Trump went after bump stocks. Not only did he go after them, he did it through the tyranny of a three letter group overstepping it's authority (a common issue).

Governors can't just declare themselves dictator of the state whenever they please for any reason they please. This should be apparent to anyone.
Natural disasters, pandemics, civil unrest…
Constitutional protections, liberties, and freedoms should never be suspended for any reason. And governors and other elected officials should not have the power to do so. Laws that specify such powers should all be struck down.
