Quite telling that the resident libs are avoiding this thread like the plague. They can't even think of a way to argue for this insanity.
Libs, you want me to vote for Trump? Because this is the crap that will push me to vote for that orange a-hole.
Trump went after bump stocks. Not only did he go after them, he did it through the tyranny of a three letter group overstepping it's authority (a common issue).
The law at issue in dc v Keller was about the same here and banned practically everything:
" Because of handguns' connection to both risks, the law specifically banned ownership of handguns, including sawed-off shotguns, machine guns, short-barreled rifles, and pistols,5 and required that lawful firearms (e.g., shotguns and rifles) be registered with the city. The law also required firearms kept in the home to be unloaded and disassembled or secured with a trigger lock.6 Taken together, these restrictions were viewed by many as the toughest in the nation."
That law was passed in 1975. Not far fetched to suspect that the (anticipated) makeup of the USSC might have been a factor in waiting until 2006 to start to challenge it. That aside, it went 5-4. One person. One person in the entire country decided whether we would be like what New Mexico wants or a free citizenry. Want to know what keeps that one person from becoming part of the majority on the USSC? Voting R. Not D.
Don't like this? Don't ever vote dem. Ever. Even if the media infected you with TDS and prevented you from rational thought.
