Yeah, I accidentally dug up this post's grave only for it to get even more off topic lolDies Irae said:Burdizzo said:

This thread gave a WHOLE new meaning to "riding horses"...fka ftc said:And horses, please do not forget about the nonconsensual equine assaults.nai06 said:AGC said:Ag with kids said:We're talking about online access to porn here.AGC said:fka ftc said:Correct. People generally do not "traffick" in legal things, certainly not at the same level.Ol_Ag_02 said:Dies Irae said:Fighting for the criminalization of pornography and increased penalties for prostitution are the best ways to track down on human trafficking possible.fka ftc said:
I typically find these takes come from folks who have struggled with porn addictions or who have otherwise been taught that shame and sexual activity go together.
How about you do you and keep porn out of your life and if you want to fight sex trafficking even better. But if you want to head down this path then I suspect you support bringing back criminal charges for marital infidelity and the like.
I would argue that legalizing prostitution is the best method to combat human trafficking.
Cocaine is more profitable than moonshine.
Prostitution is more profitable than titty dancing which is more profitable than burlesque shows.
Once again, you know nothing about trafficking. Third world women populate European brothels because they're desperate to escape their lives at home. Organized crime in Spain and Portugal, for instance, identifies women in central and South America and buys the airfare before keeping passports and saddling them with large debts to repay. They do it to the Africans who come over.
The supply of prostitutes has to be created - women don't wake up at age 11 and decide to spend 10 hours a day screwing randos with kinks for the rest of their life. It's not a thing.
Stay focused.
And PLEASE do not go off on the horse ****ing tangent. That was too weird.
You've lost the thread. Porn is linked to trafficking and prostitution, as I already said. It's what Johns consume on their way to buy and want to act out. It's the only commonality they have.
Also porn incentivizes trafficking - traffickers film these women having sex and upload it. Most people (like you) don't even realize that's a lot of what you're watching. Because again, women are groomed or forced into the life.
So decreasing easy access and consumption helps other societal problems. Addressing porn has a multiplicative effect.
The thread is supposed to be about HB 1181 which seess to restrict minors' access to online pornography. It's got nothing to do with trafficking, prostitution, or pornography addiction.
Yet here we are.
The Supreme Court takes up four new cases (counting the consolidated cases as one). Among them: A First Amendment challenge to the Texas law that requires porn websites to verify users' age. https://t.co/bhFuTBv3ug pic.twitter.com/MOXks8Ayru
