I only reference Ford for his athleticism, he was active and agile, and a few slips on TV became a meme before there were memes.
My father-in-law would have been a football All-American, I believe, had he not quit to focus on his studies. As it was he played for one NC football team (Oklahoma A&M) and worked out with another (OU) before quitting to focus on his studies.
I saw him trip and do a front roll down the bleachers at a football stadium when he was 85. He popped back up, waved to the crowd that he was okay, and didn't have a bruise.
He was one athletic son of a gun
Roger that. Agree on athleticism. Your FIL was probably better for not playing, both from the studies and the ultimate wear and tear on the body.
Haven't seen to many former NFL players who get around great later in life. Some do, but the few I have met were in rough shape by their 60's.
Ford was before my time and I have never really looked much at his presidency.
