MAGA knows it and they eat it up because the entire campaign is all about "revenge" against anyone they see as an "enemy" of Trump, which is not just the Democrats.

The non-MAGA Trump supporters simply don't pay attention since the media isn't covering it.

You mentioned the obvious major issue and problem with this campaign.....Trump's own supporters aren't even listening to what he says.

I'll give every Ramaswamy supporter credit, they love their guy because of what he's saying right now and they actually listen to his speeches and conversations. And DeSantis supporters consistently point out what DeSantis is saying and doing NOW.

But this is just another example that Trumper's aren't considering and voting on anything besides their memory and feelings about Trump in 2016-2019.

Trump now calling Bob Vander Plaats a scammer. Christian Evangelicals shifting to DeSantis. Yet methinks he will blame "cheating".

He got a blend of boos and cheers, just depends on which video you watch. People have strong feelings on both sides about him. Same moment from a different angle.

I mean he shows up at the biggest rivalry game in the state played at night. Of course people are fired up. It's not some outpouring of love for Trump. Some people certainly feel that way but he keeps doing more of these types of events, kind of like UFC, to make it look like the rallies he used to have. It's all marketing.

People aren't showing up to see him at his rallies in the numbers like they used to so he needs to have the perception of his popularity. Trump's folks are sticking with the same refrain: Trump is beloved! The Primaries are over before votes are cast! Give Trump all your money!

At the same time you have rumors Trump may be pulling out of Iowa in spite of being up by a billion points. The folks on the ground there are seeing a very different picture. Trump is going out of his way to attack Reynolds and Vander Plaats because they endorsed DeSantis. Those are the 2 most influential Republicans in the state and both have serious ground game operations. It's one thing to attack DeSantis but it is something else to go after people that are well known and liked in that state. Those folks are also very smart political operatives who know their credibility is now tied to DeSantis. They didn't do that casually, they did it because they think he can win. They are now also just as invested in him winning as he is because of the way Trump has reacted, they need him to win so they will do everything they can to make that happen.

So it's going to go one of 3 ways. First, Trump wins Iowa comfortably and the DeSantis campaign falls apart. Trump cruises to the nomination. Second, it's very tight in Iowa and one or the other wins. That favors Trump still but it does put a major hole in his inevitability argument and we have a real race. Third, DeSantis wins decisively. If that happens Trump is in serious trouble because his aura of inevitability and how he is beloved is crushed.

I could see any of those 3 things happening and I'm fully prepared for it to be the first option. Certainly hoping for the 3rd though. We will find out in about 50 days.

I'm worried about New Hampshire. Iowa doesn't mean much if you look at the past primary winners. It was Huckabee, Santorum, and Cruz. Going back to 1980, only 2000 George W Bush became the nominee and 1996 Bob Dole became the nominee. 1980 and 1988 went the other way. New Hampshire is mostly independents and DeSantis isn't doing well. Sununu needs to make his support official soon.

Every cycle is a different animal. Trump has broad support but it seems very fragile, a lot of folks are very open to moving on and a lot like DeSantis they just don't think he will win. He wins Iowa and that changes. Trouble in NH is it has a lot of Establishment voters who hate Trump but prefer others over DeSantis because they aren't true conservatives, especially on social issues. Two weeks between Iowa and NH though and that's an eternity considering NH has no early voting.

I still think the 3 scenarios I laid out are most likely. Trump is still the favorite but so much of it is based around inevitability at this point. That shatters and it's a new game.

I sure seem to remember Iowa meaning at least something to someone on this board back when Ramaswamy bought that fake poll showing he had moved up into second place.

As TRM said, please post Trump's latest ads, speeches, endorsements, etc....whatever propaganda put out by his campaign that you think makes a compelling argument to vote for him. I've sincerely been waiting to hear something from a Trump supporter besides a poll result or lame comment about DeSantis' shoes.

It won't make DeSantis but it will break him if there's a disappointing showing.

The Haley endorsement for them makes sense because she will sell out for anything. She met with BlackRock and others a few weeks back and basically said she would do whatever they wanted. Now she is getting that sweet Koch money. That's part of why she has gone Charmin Soft on immigration.

Yep, she is GOP-E in the extreme.

A vote for her is a vote for the establishment to keep doing exactly what they're doing to screw over the country.

Which leads to the Democrats getting a win which will rival 1932.

It appears that Trump is starting to pull away from Biden and even further away from DeSantis/Haley... It should be noted that, DeSantis vs Biden is now polling at an average of DeSantis +0.8, so he too is currently preferred nationally over Biden...

On a state level, both DeSantis and Haley have gained some marginal ground on Trump in Iowa (but they do indeed appear to be gains) with less than 2-months to the caucuses, while in New Hampshire, it's looking like a Trump vs. Haley contest (and Trump has slipped some while Haley has enjoyed a meteoric rise there, but DeSantis and Ramaswamy look to be in a battle for 4th/5th):

NOTE: I know, I know...polls don't matter...

I think the poll movements are fascinating. Shapiro posited yesterday that amazingly with all that Trump is, it appears that Trump has essentially become the Generic GOP candidate vs Biden.

Although I'm not supporting him in the primary, I do get it. Most people know what they get with Trump and it's looking like at least in our current moment. The mood of the public is any GOP candidate would be better than Biden with all that is going on in the world. The generic voter seems to be saying they know Trump, he has his flaws, but he exerts strength and confidence and the world needs America to be that right now.

I think they're wrong in terms of who can better execute what they want. But I get the sentiment and if the outcome is Trump v Biden, the better outcome is Trump in that matchup. But a Trump victory will create absolute chaos inside the beltway. How that impacts us out here in the fruited plains is anyone's guess.

How in the blue Hell does he exude strength and/or confidence?

2016, aided by the MSM fear mongering that he'd start WW3? Sure, I can see it.

2023, after he got gaped at every turn and now is obviously suffering a mental, and physical, decline?

Probably Trump, because the GOP is full of mouth-breathing tards.

And America would lose.

You can't selectively quote what I said. It takes this statement out of context. I'm reporting on what I think people are thinking in these poll results.

Then I say I think they are wrong about who would be best for what they want. It's literally the opening line of my final paragraph.

Sheesh. I feel like I've been around here long enough that you should give me the benefit of the doubt.

I agree with you...so if that's true, then how exactly do you classify current polling average trends as "trolling"?

If you (or others) have empirical data that contradicts what these "fake polls" are showing, then by all means, post them...
