Um i have made it clear multiple times on this thread how I support both candidates. I have laid out how they both need each other. I have laid out how they both attract and draw different bases of support. I have laid out how those two bases don't get along (which is proven on texags daily). It's not smart strategy. In the simplest terms, supporting Trump in the primary is supporting the democrats because he will lose (again) in 2024 if he's on the ballot, and he will also put a very winnable senate map and the house in play (again). So if that's your goal then go ahead I guess.

It is still a brilliant move. GOP voters get a taste of someone who is willing to go on the attack against those who deserve the assault.

Most of the Republican Party, and the conservatives outside it, have little to no respect for the thoughts and opinions of the MSM. DeSantis is trying to break out and show this group he is up for the challenge. This is a strong opportunity for him to stand out from the crowd of challengers.

I don't tend to look at life in terms of what a "good person" I am but I've been married 28 years to the same woman who I have never cheated on. I have many lifelong friends who I trust completely and who trust me. I would never say some of the things Trump does but what he says is actually pretty low on my list of why he is a scumbag. It's his actions.

That said most politicians are scumbags. It's a nasty business that creates nasty narcissistic people. There are a few decent people that manage to hang in there but generally it is levels of scumbaggery. There are many worse than Trump and in a way he is outwardly scummy which is honest in its own way. I know other folks like him. I'll work with them but I would never trust them or be more than casual friends with them. I voted for Trump last time and I'll vote for him again if I have to. Politicians are employees and should be treated as such. Still I recognize them for who and what they are.

There are also some politicians that are decent humans that I would never vote for because inevitably it's about the job and what they are doing. For instance I think RFK is a much better human that Trump but would definitely vote Trump over him.

Nah, none of them are nice guys. They are far more polite than Trump but that's a different thing. I used to think pretty highly of Bush and still think pretty highly of HW but W was a really big disappointment. I thought he did a great job as Governor but was a big letdown as President.
