the Trumpers are not conservatives and don't care about conservative policy

they care about being on Team Trump and being entertained by the Carnival Barker.

how can any conservative support a twice divorced, cheated on three wives, draft dodging, indicted three times, impeached twice, openly talked about "suspending" the constitution to be put back into power, asking GOP officials to create fake electors to overturn an election he lost by 8 million votes and 331-206 in the electoral college, who supports ethanol subsidies, claims six week abortion bans are "too stiff" and runs to the left of DeSantis on every issue...

"15 days to stop the curve"

shutting down the country and yelling at Kemp and DeSantis to shut down

pumping billions and trillions of spending into PPP and deferring college loans and 3 bailout plans which have caused massive inflation the last 18 months

not stopping massive riots which ravaged the country

which policy of Biden's has made your life worse?

Was I correct that Cruz beat him ?
What was Cruz' position on Ethanol ?
Not surprising that Team Trump did not do their homework preparing for Iowa

Lastly now that I think about McCain used to skip the IA caucus because he was against ethanol requirements

Yes, Cruz won, even though he was against the E mandates. That had little to do with his winning. He was simply very prepared and conservative, unlike Trump.

Inflation is the result of bidens war on American fossil fuels and massive spending/ printing money. We have met the enemy and it is voter ignorance and emotion.

Trump spent like a drunken sailor and bought off on shutdowns vs reopening that would have changed everything. Thankfully he was so incompetent legislatively that his bills to sell out on Amnesty, 2a rights, and a host of other issues failed. He still will take no responsibility for Fauci or Wray being disasters.

Trump did many good things but he doesn't learn and is very disorganized. If him endorsing Graham in SC which is a Dark Red state isn't enough for you I don't know what can change your mind that he will never learn.

We have a better choice and Trump isn't entitled to Round 3 after he lost to a vegetable.

This has been super easy to see what will happen. Trumpists love having their Carnival Barker out and about in front of their big parties. There are a lot of them--probably about 35% of the population, if we are honest. DeSantis doesn't have anything like that, nor do the spares running way behind these two.

DeSantis should have stayed in Florida as the governor. He could finish up this term and make Florida look even better than it already does right now, watch Trump get beat by Grandpa and the Machine again, and continue to see the Blue America burn. Plus, maybe the GOP might just figure out a way to beat the Machine at their game, just like Trump did in 2016 against Hilldog. All of this would have made RDS look great. Instead, he pissed off the carnival barker and his merry band of followers, many of whom will NEVER vote for him. And now, with a certain loss in front of him, he may very well be facing a reality that the MSM will soon start its Donald Trump Jr. campaign, just to get a leg up on the TDS that the leftists in the country have for all things Trump. which of course, will mean we get 20 years of more Trump stuff. DeSantis might as well never run for the WH again, as the foreseeable future is one that involves Leftists vs. Trump for many elections ahead. Just wonderful...

Ron DeSantis is the best candidate the GOP has run in 40 years--and it won't mean a damn thing. Because he can't get the media to cover him, since he's as conservative as he is, nor does he know how to be a celebrity like the Trumps. And the Trumps will never be allowed anywhere close to the White House ever again. All they will do is make money--for themselves, for the lib candidates, and especially for MSM outlets to make profits off the TDS we know they love to benefit from.

Idiocracy wasn't a movie, it was a plan...

His only lasting legacy will be the SCotUS picks he was given by a conservative think tank. That is a big win, but the rest of his leadershipless administration was a mongolian cluster**** leading us to today's inflationary debacle.

You're right: Desantis is the best GOP candidate in decades. It'll be a shame to see someone who actually brought in people out of the base to vote for him for governor only to see all that potential go to waste because a fraction of the population want Instant gratification of getting revenge and owning he libs, instead of getting someone who can help make the country better for years after he's gone.

What you said in your post is true, except I do see media coverage of Desantis more and more every day. He's become the new Republican devil.

They don't even cover Trump in as harsh a light these days as they do Desantis. Trump coverage is limited to the indictments or his once-every-3-months rallys. But Desantis has an unfavorable spotlight shone on every single policy decision and statement and campaign ad he makes. The media is absolutely covering Desantis. They're terrified of him becoming the new face of the Republicans.

It's the split Republican party that can't take their eyes off Trump. Its the MAGA faction of the Republican party who wants a carnival barker and spectacle rather than policy that can't stop fawning over Trump. Just take a look at the latest thread from a Trump fawner just salivating over the idea of getting to say "Trump won!" and spike the ball in the faces of Desantis supporters. But hey, its really Desantis supporters who will doom the Republican chances, right?

DeSantis actually pointed this out today. He is the media's favorite Republican to bash right now, and they treat Trump with kid gloves.

The Cult45 media (National Pulse, Breitbart, National File, etc) immediately said DeSantis was "whining".

Plenty of people whined in 2016, too. Media would have Cruz or Kasich on and ask about their reacions to what Trump had said that day and not let them make their platform pitch.

There's an easy way around that, ignore the question and say what he wants to say. Why is that hard?

DeSantis actually does a very good job of doing exactly that. Problem is that doesn't mean they will cover it, they are going in with the intention of a story and will cover that story. If DeSantis doesn't respond they will just make up a narrative around that. You are acting like the press GAF about objectivity.

Long game will be fine though because DeSantis is not Cruz in '16 who was in the midst of a campaign that overperformed and was over his head. He's going to keep hitting on policy and issues and ground game, day after day.

Trump is going to keep doing stuff like this and his supporters will just think it's amazing. Dude just loves to buy fast food and pizza for people so he can look like a "regular guy" which is probably the biggest joke of all. Trump has never done manual labor in his life and he grew up in extreme privilege. He connects with people very well but it amazes me how folks still buy this schtick, if you don't think he is laughing inside while he does this you are incredibly gullible. He knows he will get his supporters to fawn by doing this and they will ignore everything else.

He's always done that. It's funny that conservatives are just now seeing it. You can literally watch the debates against Hillary and see the very same game. But it worked for him then. And that says as much about voters as it does about Trump.
