Trump is showing what a clear and coherent leader he will be. I don't know what is more amazing, that he made this statement or he actually wrote it and prepared it planning to make this statement. I mean this is definitely the kind of message that people want and will guide him to victory.

Dude is an imbecile. Anyone voting for that idiot in the primary need not EVER refer to another as a RINO or CM... he's an 80 year old clown.

A speech that solely talks about why it's important that he insults people. That's peak trump right there

Trump leaning in on vaccines, this is great because Gorka is his base audience. Some will still buy this but there will be a lot that go WTF?

How can anyone actually watch Gorka and the rest of the people who are just riding the Trump train for the grift.

Trump supporters at this point in time are no different than Biden supporters in 2019-2020.

Both groups spent/spend all their time looking backwards at past performances instead of forward and playing what-about-ism games as a way to deflect from serious warning signs of current decline in their candidate.

With everything that's coming out now about the vaccine and its detrimental effects, and more importantly how those effects were known and kept secret from the public, its clear that was all primarily owed to how rushed this vaccine was.

Yet Trump is blatantly and eagerly taking credit for that. Simply amazing.

Have to quibble about that. Was Trump told about the detrimental side effects at the time? Hell, was he even told about the control groups being vaccinated only a few weeks into the trials?

Should he now admit that? Yes, he should.

Then again, Romney would never admit that RomneyCare didn't work in MA either and disavow ObamaCare.

It's dumb, I agree.Just admit you made a mistake and move on. But when is the last time any politician did that?

if push comes to shove, i hope DeSantis uses that and hangs it and the damages it has done on Trump.

that will play to many of trump anti-vaxx supporters.

He can come out and say "We weighed the positives and negatives known at the time and decided the positives outweighed the negatives. I'd still make the same decision but clearly its time to take a hard look at not only the vaccines but how we can improve in the future and not make the same mistakes."

Hell, even I'd applaud that statement. But his ego won't allow for anything other than "Everything I touch becomes the most magnificient, historically significant event in history!"

Fair enough. You are correct, he should do that. But in a reverse whataboutism, holding Trump to a higher standard because he's not a politician, of which they can get away for never admitting a mistake (remember when W. was asked that) is questionable, to me. Just another version of double standards.

Oh I'm not saying other politicians get a Get Out of Jail Free card when it comes to their mistakes. All politicians should be held to the standard I'm attempting to hold Trump to.

On that note, aggie93 or someone else may be able to bring up the clips, but I believe there are clips of Desantis stating he regrets some of the decisions he made in the early days of Covid, like instituting measures that kept people away from their loved ones who were dying in Covid quarantine. He's said he made mistakes.

That's accountability.

What a stupid position to hold and statement by Trump.

As some have posited before, its looking more and more like Trump is controlled opposition and intentionally sinking the R's chances.

In exchange for a pardon from the eventual Dem President?

We've heard the exact same crap from most of the Only and Forever Trumpers on F16.

"Trump will win the rural vote and add in the black and Hispanic vote, and he'll win the election."

How is Trump NOT a politician?

He ran in 2000, then 2016, 2020 and is again. He was President for 4 yrs for Pete's sake. He sucks at being one, but he's been a politician since before his ride down the Golden elevator.

It's hard to give up the dream, that's all that is left now honestly is this dream of what Trump used to be.

they are populists and nationalists and those who simply want to burn down their current lives.

1. Disloyal officers failed him
2. there was definitely the key, it had to exist!
3. I know the crew worked against me to hide the strawberries!! but have no proof

how much does 77 year old Trump sound like 56 year old Captain Queeg?!!

and as an aside, Humphrey Bogart is just amazing in this role. He plays a paranoid ineffectual leader almost as well as Donald Trump!

ANY person who does not vote for DeSantis in the Republican primary is a RINO

and not a real conservative. It's as simple as that.

Not quite. There are a lot of conservatives who aren't paying close attention and just are going off of some of the things Trump did and feel loyalty to him. For instance he did great on his SC appointments. The economy did well for his first 3 years and we became energy independent and taxes were lowered. Foreign policy was excellent as were trade deals.

If you are someone that is still looking at Trump vs Bush/Romney/McCain he is looks very conservative. Thus Trump is using that to try to paint DeSantis as an acolyte of that version of the GOP and burning his trust and loyalty in the process. The problem with that of course is that DeSantis is less like those guys that Trump is himself, I mean he founded the Freedom Caucus which was literally formed as a buffer against that part of the GOP. Most people just haven't really researched DeSantis. They think of him as the Governor of Florida who did well during Covid but they don't know much more. That's why Trump's use of stuff like "Proven Warrior" is designed to manipulate those people. Everything Trump is doing is focused around trying to make sure that people don't actually listen or look at what DeSantis has done and compare it to Trump, that is unless he gets to tell his version where he finds some bizarre link of someone who at one time had some affiliation with any GOPe figure that also has some level of link to DeSantis and go "See! See! He's a RINO ****!" while completely ignoring that by that standard Trump is 1000x more Establishment, I mean his campaign manager worked for George P Bush and his Admin was filled with Establishment folks that he now disavows (unless they say nice things about him of course like Lindsay Graham).

So I would be patient with Trump voters. Eventually they will hear things Trump is saying and go WTF? or they will actually listen to DeSantis and realize how truly impressive he is. Of course you will have the folks who just love the smack talk and celebrity and they will always love Trump because they look at politics like a TV show. DeSantis is playing the long game and it's the smart play. He is going to continue to peel away the first group of Trump voters that don't care about Trump they just liked his policies and that's the larger group. The personality cult folks are just the loudest and they will only come around after Trump loses the primary and they realize that without DeSantis winning and having a chance to pardon him Trump is completely screwed because if you think the DOJ is corrupt now wait until you give the Dems another 4 years.
