I'm convinced that 90% of pro trump post here and on social media is dem trolling. They know it causes a reaction. I don't know a single person in real life that is going to vote for trump.

I have in-laws that only believe things that Trump says, so when we visited recently and I said that Trump has gone off the rails, and I'm all in on DeSantis, they said "He's got his money from China"... and that was it. I think that they will eventually understand what is going on, though. Some people take longer to see what is right in front of their faces when they are gung-ho about something.

Science Denier is a leftist troll but I do think a bunch of Trump people are like your in laws. A lot of people bought in hard and it is difficult to admit to yourself that you've been had by a con man. That's a tough pill to swallow.

I quote articles that show facts. When MM posts fake news, I call it out. When they post actual facts, then it is what it is.

I guess it's agreed by both sides that the facts in the article are the real facts.

No. The article posts SOME facts then it supplies us with a bunch of conjecture. The union leader claims that it was good to go until it became public. This is a claim, not a fact. Surely you can see that.

Same with your assertions about the Disney deal. Some are facts, but several are either misleading or conjecture. Yes they have had a public confrontation, but it wasn't over a "tv ad". That's BS and you know it. Also, Disney can't "LOL" by transferring power last minute. They couldn't do it. I know you've posted on that thread, so you should know better. Hawg isn't a super desantis fan, and she has roundly disabused this idea by posting legal analysis of others.

No, the union leader quoted the new district administrator, Glen Gilzean. This wasn't some claim made by her. It was a direct quote she used. I guess you could somehow believe that Glen never really told her that.

Yes, it was over a TV ad. They publicly went against his "don't say gay" bill. Both DeSantis and other lawmakers said it.

Oh, ok. So with that glossed over description what you actually mean is when Disney openly said they were going to actively work to overturn the law.

Are you suggesting that because she said he's backing out due to publicity of the deal, that it must be true? I didn't see these people reach out to Glen for his side of the story. Do you wonder why that may be? Why did the new board drag their feet on the deal long enough for it to become public? Lots of "facts" here. And if you can gather facts to show this conjecture is true, you've shown the horrible reality that what? The public held a board accountable? Sure as hell wish the public would hold a former president accountable for his mistakes during covid leading to a difficult economy and rapid inflation

It was more than just a tv ad and you know it. Again, I refer you back to the thread reserved for that topic.

That pretty much was the commercial. It was a public statement. But, I can see why someone so wrapped up in his own political aspirations would put the full weight of government on a private entity when they disagree with him. Especially, someone like DeSantis, who has show time and time again that he acts just like the rest of DC. Probably perfected his technique during his time there.

So, you are for an individual using the full weight of government against entities that don't agree with certain laws and tries to get these laws overturned? That sounds very tyrannical.

Or, it's OK only if it's someone that is running against Trump maybe?

Poster that have been around for awhile will remember the thread on the George Zimmerman trial on murder of Trayvon Martin. No matter the facts, and no matter how many times his narrative was completely blown up by numerous other posters, eric76 was not deterred. Truth and reason be damned. eric76 was going to keep pushing what he wanted to be true no matter what. It became less and less clear if he was trolling or actually believed what he was posting and had lost all ability to critically think and understand facts.

A bill was passed by the FL legislature. A bill overwhelmingly supported by the PEOPLE of FL (see Desantis' ratings by those people).

A CORPORATION, not even based in the state of FL decided to tell the people of the state, "**** you, you don't get to choose how your children are going to be raised and taught." Then that globally dominant CORPORATION with extensive resources openly said ,"We're going to use our resources to OVERTURN the law supported by the citizens of FL."

No. I don't support a corporation deciding they get to negate my voice in my home state.

You clearly do, not surprising considering your liberal stances on everything you've brought up so far.

And yes, I'm damn glad Desantis is standing up to them.

So, advertising to change the opinion of voters = "negating your vote". That's true TDS material right there.

I guess you are all for the investigations into the Jan 6 "uprising" also, as obviously trying to "negate people's vote".

I guess you are for the targets of the NRA, as obviously they try to "negate people's votes" also.

How much does the NRA spend to defend people's right to bear arms? I personally spend my money to back this effort.

How much do people spend to defend children's right to live? I also spend my money for this effort.

I guess if it's for a cause you believe in, it's OK to use the full weight of government to hammer those that express their opinions.

All they did was take away privileges previously granted to Disney and they did so with the support of the People of Florida. This wasn't some backroom deal, it was very much in the open and an issue in the election.

The People are above corporations. Now if DeSantis did something illegal or even immoral that might be a story but that certainly isn't the case. Not sure why you love Disney so much, they have become an evil company that wants to turn the country communist and push your kids to cut off their privates. That's your call though.

It's pretty amazing to watch. It's like watching someone who is staring at a blue sky, being shown multiple videos, images, articles, of a blue sky and deep down knowing that it's physically impossible for the sky to be green, still continuously argue that the sky is green (mainly because their orange hero told them it was green). Definitely an impressive level of dedication to the bit.

Policy discussions? In this thread? A thread made up of 30+ pages of Twitter REEEEEEEE?

One of my first "discussions" (I admit not on direct policy, but path for the party) was around someone criticizing Trump for not going against McDaniel as RNC Chair because her last name was Romney.

I posted her history. She's consistently gone against Mitt in almost everything she does. Doesn't matter. REEEEE HER LAST NAME IS ROMNEY!! I posted that she led the party to getting Trump more votes than anyone in the history of the party. But REEEE HER LAST NAME IS ROMNEY!! And, Trump didn't actually endorse her, just didn't pick anyone to endorse. But REEEEE HER LAST NAME IS ROMNEY.

When actual facts don't matter, you are right. There is no real discussion to be had.

The media is playing their anger like a fiddle. If the media realizes Trump voters will do the opposite of whatever they say, Trump voters have given the media the power to control the outcome. Trump is now nothing but a figurehead to represent anger. His positions, his moral standing, his hypocrisy is irrelevant to them. That's a cult.
