ANY person who does not vote for DeSantis in the Republican primary is a RINO

and not a real conservative. It's as simple as that.
They don't get any more conservative than DeSantis, and the bonus is that he's been that way his entire life, not just when it suited him for his own personal needs

DeSantis '24.

Fair enough. You are correct, he should do that. But in a reverse whataboutism, holding Trump to a higher standard because he's not a politician, of which they can get away for never admitting a mistake (remember when W. was asked that) is questionable, to me. Just another version of double standards.

How is Trump NOT a politician?

He ran in 2000, then 2016, 2020 and is again. He was President for 4 yrs for Pete's sake. He sucks at being one, but he's been a politician since before his ride down the Golden elevator.
It's hard to give up the dream, that's all that is left now honestly is this dream of what Trump used to be.
Had Trump gone into retirement after he lost to Biden and laid low, he'd have gotten the W treatment in that he would be looked upon in a better light by even those on the other side. The longer Trump continues to be, well, Trump, his legacy will be viewed in as poor a light as possible, save for only the small percentage of the population that is his maga,

I'll give Trump this.

He is the only person on Earth who could convince people who claim to be conservative to back Disney, Bud Light, abortion, and the groomers.

the more time that goes on I don't believe any Trump supporters are actual conservatives.

they are populists and nationalists and those who simply want to burn down their current lives.
I think they're lazy. It's easy to support the known quantity. That way they don't have to do any research or think for themselves at all.

Beyond that he is actually criticizing DeSantis for pardoning people and apologizing. Trump has never shown remorse for the people that were arrested or fined much less done anything to help them. The level of stupid is pretty amazing with some of these folks.

They know the WuFlu is an albatross around Trump's neck, so they're trying to make it sound like DeSantis was really the bad guy.

Gorka is as bad a Loomer.

Both would fly a 747 full of passengers into a skyscraper if Trump told them to do it.

Ron DeSantis was called out by a Republican women's group in early-voting New Hampshire after scheduling an event on the same day and time as a major fundraiser for the group headlined by his chief political rival, Donald Trump.

And the decision has driven the group apart.

In a statement Thursday, the New Hampshire Federation of Republican Women (NHFRW) criticized the Florida governor and Republican presidential hopeful for an alleged attempt to "pull focus" from the group's annual Lilac Luncheon in Concord later this month.
Quote:

The event, they said, was a significant fundraiser for the organization and a key stop for candidates seeking to court Republicans' favor ahead of the state's critical first-in-the-nation primary. Earlier this week, the group announced it had officially sold out of tickets for the June 27 event in what the organization described as the largest Lilac Luncheon crowd in the organization's near-80-year history.

Several days later, however, Fox News reported DeSantis planned to hold an event in nearby Hollis at the exact same date and time as the luncheon, bucking a longstanding tradition in New Hampshire politics not to overshadow events put on by in-state organizations.

I have to wonder, is that a real thing? As in, is it actually a big deal, or is that some Trumpers in the org trying to make a mountain out of a molehill for the purposes of throwing dirt at Desantis? My inclination is the latter.

Multiple members of the group have already resigned over this as it goes against their mission. This is not a thing in NH. You can't be the First Primary State and expect that all of the other candidates will stand down when you decide to host a single candidate and not even appear anywhere else in the state giving that candidate all the press. As mentioned the event was also already sold out so it isn't costing them any money. If they wanted to invite multiple candidates to speak that might be different but instead they chose Trump, that's fine but expecting DeSantis and every other candidate to NOT campaign anywhere in NH (DeSantis is an hour away and NH is a very small state to begin with).

This is very much a setup by Trump and someone within that group trying to get a PR win against DeSantis but I think it will end up backfiring because it makes no sense.

Just to make sure I'm understanding that correctly, Hawg....

This group planned their annual event with a specific candidate as their speaker, Trump...just Trump, not all of the candidates or even a small handful of the candidates, just Trump...and they're mad because Desantis isn't going just sit idly by and let Trump get preferential face time?

Planning an alternative event at the same time is exactly the thing that 2016 Trump would do, and he'd do it without hesitation or any qualms. Too bad if he has to taste some of his own medicine.

Oh, and if this NH women's group is divided by the two events, hmmm, sounds like Trump doesn't quite have all the votes he claims he has.

"Where were these women in 2016?" responded one campaign veteran when told about the NHFRW statement. "We had 17 people campaigning in a small state, and nobody was waiting for permission to campaign. You couldn't park your car without backing into a former governor running for president in the parking lot."

Fergus Cullen, a former NHGOP state party chair, also dismissed the group's claims of outrage. "It is common for candidates to do events at the same time as other candidates. Can you imagine if this 'non-compete' idea applied to the last week of the primary?"

Current state party chair, Chris Ager, had a very simple, direct, and telling statement. "The New Hampshire Republican Party welcomes all Presidential candidates to speak to whomever they want, whenever and wherever they see fit."

DeSantis is getting better and better at speaking and expressing his ideas, this is just very impressive. It's as clear of a description of why the Administrative State needs to be reformed as I have heard. He's starting to speak more off the cuff without notes and is projecting better because of it. It's why the campaign has been a slow roll as well. He has been working out the kinks and refining his messaging.

This NHFRW uproar is fantastic, I love it. It's an early sign of things to come.

Trump's people and supporters assuming they're entitled to the nomination. Then they get cold water thrown in their face and a dose of their own medicine from 2016 when Desantis doesn't bow down to Trump and upstages them. They throw a tantrum and try to spin-spin-spin, only to get egg on their face and lose even more supporters.

Absolutely love it.

Another Day, Another Trump legal scandal of his own making.

another badge of honor for the Trumpers!

"Special Counsel Jack Smith has secured the testimony of at least two fake electors in the case against ex-President Donald Trump by offering them limited immunity.

In a brand-new exclusive, the team writes that Smith has made a deal in the election interference investigation against Trump:

Special counsel Jack Smith has compelled at least two Republican fake electors to testify to a federal grand jury in Washington in recent weeks by giving them limited immunity, part of a current push by federal prosecutors to swiftly nail down evidence in the sprawling criminal investigation into efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

The testimony, described to CNN by people familiar with the situation, comes after a year of relative dormancy around the fake electors portion of the investigation and as a parade of related witnesses are being told to appear before the grand jury with no chance for delay.

That activity could signal that investigators are nearing at least some charging decisions in a part of the 2020 election probe, sources added. It also comes just as the special counsel's office filed charges against former President Donald Trump for his handling of classified documents.

In addition to Smith's investigation, Trump could soon face indictments from election crimes prosecutor Fani Willis. Willis has signaled possible indictments of the former president in Fulton County's grand jury investigation of Trump's effort to overturn election results in Georgia, which experts believe are likely coming in August. That's also the timeframe Trump's documents trial is scheduled to start, although it's likely to be delayed."

This is the Trump response btw, what DeSantis needs to do is stop trying to be a conservative and bend the knee but he will still lose because he doesn't have Star Power like Trump. Great plan.

Have a big liberal buddy who likes to talk politics with me. He's a PhD and a died in the wool who just LOVES to send me crap about Trump and how he is evil and going to jail. He laughs about Trump though as well because he sees him as an easy mark. DeSantis scares the crap out of him. What scares him the most is he has to admit he agrees with him on a lot of issues and he knows just how effective he is because he communicates so well and clearly. He has no clue how the Democrats will effectively attack him and he knows if he wins he will actually get his agenda done. His entire tone when talking about DeSantis changes because he has to fight on issues instead of personality.

That's the thing the Trump folks don't understand. The Left doesn't win on issues they win on personality. They have to make the Republican look scary and dishonest and evil. They don't want to argue the actual issues and why we need to have porn in Elementary schools or why we need an open border or even why 6 week abortion bans are unreasonable. The LAST thing they want to do is argue why California is better than Florida too.

They especially don't want to do it with someone that can communicate their position clearly. It's hard to make a guy who looks like DeSantis look evil though. He's young and has a beautiful wife and family and he never loses his cool. He may not be super charismatic but that cuts both ways.

My hope is more and more Trump voters figure this out, it's honestly liberating to support a guy who leans in on conservative values.

Trump is wildly despised by at least 53% of the country right now

and that is even BEFORE the DNC starts running half a billion dollars worth of ads showing Trump IN HIS OWN WORDS praising Putin and loving on him in meetings

and before half a billion in ads about January 6, or his impeachments, or his indictments, or his hosting Kanye and the biggest Jew hater in the USA

is all that going to gain Trump any votes- or cause him to lose 54% or 55% of the vote?

I forgot about all the warm and fuzzy like things Trump said about Putin, or at the very least, putting Putin before the Americans that worked for the country, a la government employees. And the worse things get with Putin, the worse those words will look to anyone not maga.

Once the primaries really start heating up, things really might look not the way Trump envisioned them when he started his run,
