Nobody is defending him, but you can't just kill random people yelling on the subway.

He didn't randomly kill him for screaming/yelling.

Well that is why we have trials...

Would you have stayed on the car with him acting like that? Sat next to him?
Offered him twizzlers and a place to sleep?

**** no, I change cars all the time, avoiding confrontation is the way to go to avoid stupid prizes, if someone is nutzo alert the conductor, if someone is attacking someone else then they are going to get a 6'4" boot up their ass.

Ahh, so "run, hide, run, run, run and then fught only if there are no other options".*

And nobody - absolutely nobody - believes you are capable of fighting for yourself, much less somebody other than yourself.

100% you are the guy that pees himself frozen in fear in a bad situation.

I've dealt with envy/little man syndrome since like 8th grade and know bull**** when I see it… I'm not one of the dozens of people here in absolute fear of standing next to someone/anyone in public.

As stated before there are people here terribly afraid of a city that is significantly safer than the ones they live in, or their closest major city.

Uh oh, now Vivek being linked with them will mean his is a white supremacist. I like Vivek, but cannot get behind a person who discriminates based on color.

I'm sorry. Are you asking me to put together figures to support YOUR position? Don't think so. I will make the effort to flag your earlier post as rumor, unconfirmed, false information and encourage others to do the same.

If you think the numbers support your statement, back it up.

The law of self defense should not be you have to wait until someone is actually physically attacking you or another person. That's dumb.

As long as you have a reasonable fear of imminent attack, you're good. If I'm on the jury ---> not guilty.

How long was the choke hold?

Does it matter? How's long does the law say you can choke someone to defend others?

Before the point where they die?
I think you continue to ask the wrong question.

The proper question is...

Regardless of the time he was in the choke hold (let's go with your 15 minute example - or even 10), why does it take that long in the NYC subway system for law enforcement to respond to an altercation in the subway?

Last I recall, it's not normally a long ride between stops. Why were individuals on the subway exposed for so long without any official protection?

My point: If NYC is defunding police to the point that they are absent in the subway system thereby leaving everyone to fend for themselves, this whole situation is self-created by the city and is a natural progression of lack of law enforcement.

Quick googling shows the longest time between any 2 stops is roughly 8 minutes. Between two physical stations, 6-7 minutes.

Why are we this far in and there is any debate on how long the chokehold was for is Allen Outlet shooter level lack of information.

Release Perry and pin a medal on him. Bury Neely in a poppers grave on that little island they use. Or in the mass COVID graves in Central Park.

Probably because nobody told the conductor. If the conductor calls NYPD at Broadway-Lafayette the police will be there in about one minute.

#1. You're alleging that no one ever attempted to contact the conductor or call for help? First I've heard of this. LINK?

#2. Assuming this is correct, this becomes Penny's fault how?

Obviously Penny had an additional responsibility to notify the conductor, call police, ask the crowd if there were any social workers present. He should have also surveyed the crowd to ensure no one morally opposed his aggressive detainment of a beloved street performer who had a troubled past.

At least according to Manhattan...

Legal fund has eclipsed $2.5MM. I am optimistic he'll get a better criminal and civil defense than Derek Chauvin, Kim Potter, Kyle Rittenhouse, and George Zimmerman with that war chest.
