I have a moral compass. I also believe in being prepared and responsible. You also need much better insurance. You could find better plans on the obamacare exchange.
You have no idea of my details or situation. You don't know about the procedures that my family has gone through other than the top level her. Same thing for the girl who was shot.Teslag said:

are you boys serious that you have actually opened a door and gotten into the wrong car before?!
were you completely falling over drunk?
Pretty easy to do in the dark if you own a common-model car. As a kid, my mother and I actually unlocked and got into a Volvo that was the same color and model. It was only when the car didn't start that we realized we were in the wrong vehicle.

At this point, have to assume this is one long troll. No person is actually this big a dbag in real life. (Not even a Tesla owner)
I absolutely have. Same model truck, same color, with same bed cover as mine parked two spaces over. It was unlocked and I opened the door and started to sit down when I noticed a ton of stuff in the passenger seat wasn't mine.LMCane said:

Not a troll. There's few thins I loathe more than people who whine about medical expenses when there are ways to mitigate it. People just have other priorities.

Dark parking lot with a similar car park in a similar area to where you think you left it. Absolutely could make that mistake.
Also, this is not a mistake. Stand your ground does not apply.

Do you have any idea how many white Ford pickups there are in Texas?LMCane said:

It might be worthwhile to select an unusual decal apply it to the door on each side.Fightin_Aggie said:Do you have any idea how many white Ford pickups there are in Texas?LMCane said:

Though reading that is tragic, I'm not entirely sure the driver isn't justified in his actions.
12:15AM someone opens your car door unannounced in a HEB parking lot. Sees you and immediately turns around and back into another vehicle. Then you roll down the window as he approaches to confront you on the matter...
This just seems like a bad sequence of events as of now more than malice.
Medical expenses rarely bankrupt families like in the pre ACA era. That being said this family is going to have some expenses that are not covered. I still do not like that most personal tragedies result in a go fund me website being createdTeslag said:Panama Red said:

We all bear the cost of bankruptcy from higher fees on loans and higher medical costs to recover losses.

And now you see why we loathe irresponsible jackasses with misplaced priorities
I'm one of those that does't have kids, but if I were I would not want to put my children in such a pressure and time intensive situation. I would want them to have a normal high school experience and spend family time at home vs. making long commutes three days a week.oh no said:
Generals is a "worlds" team that is very select and annually one of the best squads in the world. They are about to compete in the Worlds Finals in Orlando this weekend. Woodlands Elite is one of the top competitive cheer gyms in the country and girls who want scholarships and are good enough to make a team there travel from all over the Houston area and as far as Austin or Beaumont to compete on one of their teams. It sounds crazy to people without kids or with kids who never got wrapped into the very competitive worlds of baseball, cheer, gymnastics, soccer, etc., but you'd be surprised how far parents let competitive sports take their kids if they there are scholarship or professional track opportunities.
There was another thread on this subject that I had posted on. I guess it was removed entirely (?).

edit - This is not relevant to the incident that happened. She could have been out with friends after a football game and come across a similar idiot with a gun.

Woodlands is a big cheer and gymnastics center in Texas. Similar to Allen. You typically see at least one Olympic gymnasts coming from one of these areas every 4 years.
