Okay so rally attendence is the primary metric you use to evaluate Trump's voter support (+gut and common sense)? Good luck out there if you really are in lobbying.
Elections were typically about candidate support and popularity. Rallies would seem to be a good indicator of the size of one's popularity peen, no?

Bernie is President
Beto is a Senator
Abrams is the Governor of Georgia

Rally sizes always win!

We may find out there is a huge voting block out there up for grabs like never before.

This is my dark horse prediction:

I have no way of backing this up with any sources but my gut feeling is is that DeSantis and his advisers maybe discussing with him that might be better to hold off to run for president until 2028.

They obviously know that he has a lot of support, but they're not sure enough if his support his high enough to secure him the 2024 nominee.

They are looking at the polls and they see that Trump has a 30 point lead at this point and yes I think that would go down a little bit if DeSantis declared officially but I'm not sure it would go down that much 30 points is a tough deficit to overcome and they may be telling him Ron if you don't secure the nominee your credibility, your popularity, sours a little bit for 2028 and perhaps could even hurt you just being the governor of Florida in the meantime . This is a big risk that he would be taking as to how everything stands at the moment.

The Trump indictments are not going to hurt him, and more than likely this indictment will be thrown out eventually

I just think right now, DeSantis is still mulling this over if he has not declared by June, then he's not going to declare.

It would be a lot different at the polls, were showing a neck to neck battle between DeSantis and Trump but where we are as of today trumps got this in the bag
Appreciate your work, but I hope you're wrong.

Trump on the ballot = 4 more years of Biden and Kamala.

And you're entitled to fill that you hope I'm wrong that's fine. I kind of hope I'm wrong myself, but I look at reality right now. Reality is pointing in the direction that I just mentioned.

No, you aren't describing reality.

You are describing YOUR imagination.

Hell you just stated above you are using your gut and common sense. Neither of those exist in reality.

There is no imagine of the rallies. They are what they are in the thousands major thousands of people you can live in delusion and say they're not Ill live in reality because they are.

Bernie bought out by Soros DNC, Beto nearly pulled one of biggest upsets on Cruz and parlayed that into a presidential bid, Abrams similarly almost flipped GA blue and we know there was election fraud because it was alleged by the Dems theyselves.

So rally sizes are an indicator. Sorry that is a difficult concept for ya.

So 3 losses? Oh sorry they were "close" losses which seems to be what we are shooting for. Team Trump….competing with Beto, Abrams and Bernie bros for moral victories.

So you identify with basements and jeep horn honk and chairs in circles?

Too funny.

But I guess you're right. Rally sizes are not indicative of popularity. Elections have no relation to popularity of the candidate.

You got any stats or you just want to continue pointing to examples of cheating, manipulations and close calls that should have been blowouts.

It does for where Trump stands in terms of his base popularity.

Like I said earlier, let me know when Trump only has a few hundred people at a rally then you will be onto something

IMO, Trump's biggest issue isn't popularity with conservatives - I think he certainly has more than ample support there - it's negative popularity with everyone else.

I'm not sure anyone can do a better job of getting the base to vote than Trump... unfortunately, I think he also will drive democrats and independents to the polls in record numbers - to vote the other way.... it's an odd phenomenon that I don't fully understand. He was a media darling, hanging with all the "right people" 6 years ago - and now they have a hatred for him like no other. I don't get it.

Very interesting observation and the unending, deepening hate for Trump is unprecedented... maybe in the course of history.

Also agree that hate drives the vote more than any other sort of issue. Why were they, are they and continue to be so afraid of him?

It's really pretty simple, psychosis is real and many have been demoralized. Just look at all the sheep with covid, it was shocking to see how weak minded a large percentage of the population could be. They've been demoralized and they can't recognize the "Heavy Metal" music worked. Just reading these threads is saddening and frustrating at the same time, and they can never recognize it in themselves. The terms they use to describe Trump and anyone who might support him are straight from the leftist and msm. They're gone and it's sad, sad for the country.

Couple that with something I've heard said a million times - "we need a businessman leading the country, not lifetime politicians..." and we've likely all heard or said that ourselves. It was always a fairly common theme, regardless of political stripe.

Then when one gets elected, all hell breaks loose.

This thread really developed. Gut feels, anecdotal evidence, rally size nonsense, ignoring of real polling data with independents, this thread has it all.

I was one of the most staunch defenders of Trump from 2015 to Feb 2020. Come election season 2020 I was back on the Trump train as it needed to happen. Then he fundraised on stop the steal, kept the money, and let Jan 6 defendants languish in prison without lifting a finger or funding a single defendant.

The cult of personality will not be able to control himself. America is ready for solutions to Biden's mess. Trump will give them Mueller memories, stolen election drama, and Peter Strzok Lisa Page romance tales. He will talk independent voters into thinking fondly of Bidenflation because at least it doesn't come with a heaping side of drama.

The fact that the former head of Collin County GOP and a current lobbyist for the Republican cause can't see this is a most troublesome development.

To win in 2024, it's going to take the most aggressive ballot harvesting infrastructure ever created. Who do you trust to implement? Donald Trump, whom no republican wants to work for? Or Ron DeSantis, whom every Republican wants to work for?

This election won't be won on the tarmac of an airport at a political rally. This election will be won with worn out soles in worn out shoes, door to door.

Only idiots don't know the game that's being played.

How do any of y'all even know if DeSantis was not in agreement with trumps endorsements? I damn guarantee you he agreed with every single one of them. If he didn't then why didn't he speak up and endorse somebody else?

Y'all just want to assume that he didn't agree with those endorsements because it makes you feel better for the spin that you're trying to make everyone on here believe.

I know of one incredibly important endorsement Trump and DeSantis disagreed on.

Ronna Romney McDaniel.

In an election where the Republican Political Machine needs to drive like a Cobra while being as reliable as a Honda Accord, that endorsement makes me concerned he isn't ready to burn the shoe leather need to win 2024. DeSantis literally went out, built his own political machine, and destroyed the entire Florida Democratic Party. Meanwhile, when Trump left office, the Democrats were stronger culturally than anytime since FDR.

"A businessman" can potentially be a great option as an outsider candidate, as Youngkin has shown. Trump doesn't exactly have the standard, steady businessman mindset that someone like Youngkin has or Rick Scott back when he ran the first time. It's part of what some people like about him but I don't think it says much about the stereotypical businessman -> politician path given how unique he is.

Why would conservatives be his base of popularity?

He's not conservative. He spent enough to make Obama blush, as well as a lot of other things. Better than Hillary, whom he supported for years and years? Yes. Would've been better than Biden, even though he started us down the inflationary path? Yepper.
