Trump ushered in a fantastic tax cut and jobs act and probably navigated the early days of COVID better than many others by pushing more for states to determine their own paths. Hell, only reason DeSantis gained such massive popularity was Trump leaving him and Florida alone.

Yes, Lockdown Don was great during the early days of COVID.

The thrashing coming upon Trump is only inflicted by Trump. If he ran on positions and attacking the liberals like he should, we'd all be hunky dorry. But instead the man continues to attack the other candidate that has a shot at taking out Biden. That is the goal right? Taking out Biden! Then why focus so much effort on taking out and cutting down the people you'd still need.

Attack the policy. Not the person. Especially when it's your own freaking party.
So when you guys are attacking Trump's style and not his policies, is that sort of like being a hypocrite?

Or was their mention of Trump's policies in all the criticism of Trump?

If you only look through the lens of Forum 16, you would be right, but this isn't a real sampling of how it is in reality across the country . Trump support is just as high as it was in 2020 as it is now , has he lost some supporters? yes but not enough to make a dent.
Strongly disagree. I know many who have turned on him.

I'm sure you do. I know plenty as well, but those are anecdotal instances they don't amount to anything in the grand scheme of things.

Well than to Charpie's point. I'm less likely to vote for anyone you support based off of both your interactions here and the wheels off candidates you have previously associated your name with.

That is the epitome of an apples to oranges comparison.

Interesting those tweets are from AFTER DeSantis locked down Florida, but never let facts get in the way of TDS and such.

Florida Governor Orders Statewide Lockdown

April 1, 20202:42 PM ET

Florida has now joined the list of states that are ordering residents to remain in their homes for all but essential activities to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis made the announcement at an afternoon briefing. It was just a few hours after he spoke to President Trump. DeSantis said he's issuing an executive order that will direct "all Floridians to limit movements and personal interactions outside the home to only those necessary to obtain or provide essential services or essential activities."

Both are a little fruity.

So Trump has to wait for Ronnie D to run before attacking then we can have apples v apples or oranges v oranges.

Me thinks you may have typed before thinking through the concept and metaphor thoroughly.

Florida has now joined the list of states that are ordering residents to remain in their homes for all but essential activities to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. Florida Gov. DeSantis said he's issuing an executive order that will direct "all Floridians to limit movements and personal interactions outside the home to only those necessary to obtain or provide essential services or essential activities."

...

DeSantis said he reevaluated his position after Trump ordered a 30-day extension of the White House's social distancing guidelines.

Glad you clarified he followed Trump's dumb ideas because earlier this was reported:

Quote:

Gov. Ron DeSantis said he hasn't issued a "stay-at-home" order to stem the spread of the coronavirus because the disease has not hit many areas of the state.

At least 30 states have issued statewide stay-at-home orders. Florida, among eight states with the highest number of COVID-19 cases, is the only one without such an order.

DeSantis' approach in trying to manage the disease without doing undue harm to the economy
Quote:

Gov. Ron DeSantis is refusing to follow the herd.

His cure-can't-be-worse-than-the-disease approach has put the Republican governor under a glaring spotlight locally and nationally as cases of the virus in Florida surge past 1,400. It's a philosophy that aligns DeSantis with other conservatives, including President Donald Trump and Florida House Speaker Jose Oliva, a Republican with a strong libertarian bent.

On Tuesday, state Senate Democrats began papering the governor's office with letters urging him to issue a shelter-in-place order.

"That is the dumbest s--- I have heard in a long time," said state Sen. Oscar Braynon (D-Miami Gardens). "This is a day-by-day crisis. Italy damn near saw 1,000 people die in one day, and there are people proclaiming we got this and have it solved in 15 days?"

DeSantis has grown only more defiant. On Monday, instead of buckling to political pressure to issue a shelter-in-place order, he said he would restrict visitors coming into the state from coronavirus hot spots including New York. And he's now literally ignoring pleas from Florida Democrats to be more aggressive.

Trump has no chance of getting elected. No one even sees his truth social rants but his most dedicated cultists or people on forums like this. He will not win over moderates or suburban women. Even if he did somehow get elected he would accomplish nothing on his revenge tour with a clown show administration of sycophants. He is holding the Republican Party hostage. Nominate me or I'll trash whoever you do.

Dems HATE all Rs unless they can count on their vote against other Rs. See Mitt Romney, Liz Cheney, and many, many CMs who have posted in this thread.

Isn't alienating the power brokers pretty consistent with draining the swamp?

Only way he exits the race is if he's dead or in jail. He's not going to jail, and I imagine he's probably in pretty good health.

I don't ever bet on anything, but this right here is a can't-miss, sure thing if there ever was one.

I actually expect these kinds of nonsensical attacks from trump. He knows he has nothing of substance he can beat DeSantis on and is objectively a much worse candidate in every way. I more question the people who can still support him with such an obvious and effective alternative available.

"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Trump beat Hillary after the GOP ran super sleepy candidates in McCain and Romney and then the laughable field they put together in the 2016 primaries.

They hate for Trump on here is completely unhinged. There are many things I dislike about the dude, to the point that if primaries were today I'd vote for Ronnie D.

But the continual trashing of Trump on here just plays right into the libs hands. Congrats I guess?

If in your heart you are a liberal and want to be a sheep and not a tiger, then vote against Trump cause he hurts your feelz and gets laid more than you and always has. Or maybe you covet his wealth and fame.

Its unhealthy to harbor such hate for someone who did great things for our Country and saved us from HIllary when no other R candidate had the balls to stand up to the left.

I think you're misreading the responses.

The "hate" and "trashing", as you say, are all in response to Trump launching unprovoked attacks on other Republicans.

The "hate" and "trashing" are originating from Trump and we are just tired of it. Trump is unhinged, not us.

It is a fact that DeSantis can't win without the MAGA vote. On that LDP is correct. What he leaves off is the flip side, it is a fact that Trump cannot win with his current polling of independents that has tanked since the indictment.

But LDP does claim a monopoly on knowledge since he works at a lobbying firm. A lobbying firm that doesn't know that DeSantis is dominating the fundraising without even being a declared candidate. Or do they know and the grift is too lucrative?

You're predicting Donald Trump to discover humility and sacrifice his self interest for the good of the party. What in Trump's lifetime of actions leads you to this something he is capable of doing, much less willfully choosing to do?
This. If you ask Trump, he's never lost in his life. If he wins, it's his doing. If he loses, the other side cheated. No way that's changing now. If DeSantis runs and beats him, you can count on him claiming fraud. And whether the GOP wins or loses the general, it may very well tear the party apart.

He should have been rejected 7-8 years ago. For anyone paying attention, this was ALWAYS obvious.

He won in 2016. He got cheated on 2020. Pretty accurate statement by him if he said it.
Nonsense. He was the greatest president at all time at turning out the vote. unfortunately, too much of the vote he turned out went to the democrats.

Trump lost. The Democrats didn't need to commit fraud to beat Trump.
