Desantis is better. But Trump deserves another term to fully break DC. Then Desantis can come in to rebuild. I'm sure Desantis will realize this, and no harm in promoting his brand now for future campaigns.

He had power and did jack ***** He's not a leader, nor a solid fight winner. As a lame duck, with 90+% of DC against him, he'll get less done than before.

He doesn't "deserve" anything but being a billionaire ex-Prez with a banging wife.

Goodness I never thought I'd go from giddily lining up to vote for someone to completely despising everything about them in the course of just a few years. He is a complete POS. Just a slimy lying fake Christian. Fighting great conservative leaders with lies and intimidation because he's an immoral sack of sh**.
Well said

It is surprising how quickly he has made me dislike him.

Like you I've gone from a very enthusiastic supporter to a "just go away" feeling.

Best reply! You can tell these people are not in the industry. Their contributions to politics starts and ends on TexAgs. Nothing wrong with that but they post some very ignorant unintelligent posts that expose how little so many of these posters truly know.

What exactly are YOU doing for Colin County other than entertaining NATIONAL candidates?

I don't do anything for Collin County anymore I'm now an officer for a lobbying political consulting company out of Dallas.
Even clearer.

That being said, are you sure you should be sharing so much? Many lobbying firms have strict social media policies. Be careful and the best of luck.

The Don exits the race and puts full support behind DeSantis. Calling it now.

You're predicting Donald Trump to discover humility and sacrifice his self interest for the good of the party. What in Trump's lifetime of actions leads you to this something he is capable of doing, much less willfully choosing to do?
This. If you ask Trump, he's never lost in his life. If he wins, it's his doing. If he loses, the other side cheated. No way that's changing now. If DeSantis runs and beats him, you can count on him claiming fraud. And whether the GOP wins or loses the general, it may very well tear the party apart.

He should have been rejected 7-8 years ago. For anyone paying attention, this was ALWAYS obvious.

By Cult do you mean the people he brought to the GOP? The people the GOP were not able to bring out to vote for the longest time?

Blue collar Dems, Hispanics and non educated whites.

Those are the people you are referring to and they are the people the GOP need to win the election period

Without his "cult" the GOP does not have a chance.

So if they are following the guy that got them to come out to begin with, they are not burning down anything.

Morons on here want to bad mouth his hardcore followers, but yall aren't sh** without them and damn sure won't win without them. With that being the case, it is Pretty dumb to refer to them as cult members and bad mouth them

This sounds a lot like what a DC swamp creature thinks on a daily basis. "You aren't involved in government, therefore you're ignorant and only I know what's best for you!".

Nobody is criticizing how you spend your time. However it is amusing that you seem to think your opinion "barf" isn't as gross and ignorant like the rest of ours is.

He brought all of those at the expense of the CM and moderate democrat votes. So if he can't get the CM and moderate dem to vote for him, which is absolutely needed to win in 2024, what has the GOP gained? If anything it has created a net loss. Take 2020 as your lead example.

Now, lets look at DeSantis. Barely won FL in 2018 (Won by like 0.3% I believe) and within four years turned the state into a R+20. Now, what does that say about DeSantis and his ability to lead and gain the CM and moderate democrat vote? The votes NEEDED to win in 2024.

Dude, don't go all God-complex on us.

Glad you are making a good living doing what you love patriotically, agree with you most of the time, I love Kari Lake/DJT/Ron DeSantis all, but seriously...the goal of the lobbyist industry is to understand/help influence those ignorant masses (not just on a politics forum).

C'mon, man...and yes, I do happen to think Trump should campaign for DeSantis. He should recognize/publicly state he is too old for the job. He'd be a fine UN ambassador though!

Trump beat Hillary after the GOP ran super sleepy candidates in McCain and Romney and then the laughable field they put together in the 2016 primaries.

Trump ushered in a fantastic tax cut and jobs act and probably navigated the early days of COVID better than many others by pushing more for states to determine their own paths. Hell, only reason DeSantis gained such massive popularity was Trump leaving him and Florida alone.

They hate for Trump on here is completely unhinged. There are many things I dislike about the dude, to the point that if primaries were today I'd vote for Ronnie D.

But the continual trashing of Trump on here just plays right into the libs hands. Congrats I guess?

If in your heart you are a liberal and want to be a sheep and not a tiger, then vote against Trump cause he hurts your feelz and gets laid more than you and always has. Or maybe you covet his wealth and fame.

Its unhealthy to harbor such hate for someone who did great things for our Country and saved us from HIllary when no other R candidate had the balls to stand up to the left.

Agreed. If trump scares him off now, who would vote for him in the future. It's one thing to suggest he stepped aside for the hood of the party, but trump has blown those optics to hell.

If you only look through the lens of Forum 16, you would be right, but this isn't a real sampling of how it is in reality across the country . Trump support is just as high as it was in 2020 as it is now , has he lost some supporters? yes but not enough to make a dent.

The thrashing coming upon Trump is only inflicted by Trump. If he ran on positions and attacking the liberals like he should, we'd all be hunky dorry. But instead the man continues to attack the other candidate that has a shot at taking out Biden. That is the goal right? Taking out Biden! Then why focus so much effort on taking out and cutting down the people you'd still need.

Attack the policy. Not the person. Especially when it's your own freaking party.

I don't do the type of lobbying that you're thinking of the type that are trying to make policies and laws passed by giving money under the table to lawmakers.

We represent candidate seeking office from state rep and above, and we call on donors to assist men and women seeking office, so they have the proper funding.

To me Trump looks like a slow moving train wreck destined to self destruct. One of his greatest strengths - his bluntness and bravado - has now become a liability. It was tolerable and even enjoyable when he was using it against Democrats, but going after fellow a Republican and potential primary opponent is ticking off all the wrong people if he is serious about winning in the general. It is petty and honestly comes off as insecure at this point. His need for revenge is outweighing his judgement.

It is frustrating because he would be so much better off staying out of the race altogether and quietly endorsing whoever wins the primary and helping them where he can. He could live out a nice retirement - since the New York indictment isn't going anywhere - be a hero in the Republican Party, and still have influence behind the scenes, just like Obama does for the Democrats.
