Morals come from objective truth. Only one religion holds to objective truth coming from a source that is not man (which is stand-point epistemology).Opalka said:you don't have to belong to a Christian organization to have morals.CDUB98 said:richardag said:

Pretty much all news falls into politics. But the reason is not this forum, the reason is that news has become weaponized for political agendas and power grabs.Opalka said:
When events like this happen, it automatically defaults to the "Political Forum". That in itself is very telling.
Private faith based school ending at 6th grade and just over 200 students is not likely to have an SRO or any other trained / armed security.Ags77 said:aggiebrother33 said:

Agree. It isn't the guns, it's the looney toons getting a gun. How do we slow that down ?
And I agree, we are letting our kids down. Did they say there was NO school police or any law enforcement at the school ?

In this instance, it may not have even made a difference. Former FBI referenced earlier made the point about the casualties were all fatal. Not sure if that has changed but leaving no wounded indicates some level of adeptness or planning. Indicates that, but it may be they were just very effective in their shooting.

Although his family will not recognize him post-corruption, he still remembers them fondly (except his father) and checks on them when time allows.
Mother: Karen Hale
My mother is the one who taught me from a young age how to be frugal with money by living within your means and saving even when you can't. When dad split she took care of my sister and I to the best of her ability and yes she did receive child support but to be honest none of us really wanted it. She surprised me, both her and Jenna actually, when I came out and told my family I wasn't attracted to women. They were shocked but ultimately accepting of my decision and even supported me when my father wouldn't. I know it hurts her that I don't come around the house as often as I use to but with dad trying to weasel his way back into her life, I just can't come and go as I please without there being an explosive argument between me and my ole man.
Father: Richard Hale
He's a d**k... There's really not much more to say about him other than he's a small claims lawyer. When I was a junior in high school he disowned me as a son and walked out of our lives leaving my mom to care for both Jenna and I. Jenna still seems confident he'll see reason some day and accept me as I am and stop trying to change me into something I'm not; but I'm not going to hold my breath.
Sister: Jenna Hale
She can be a bit of a handful at times but you learn to live with it. Over bearing at times and kind of demanding but it sure as hell beats sitting around like a lump on a log asking people 'what do you want to do' all day. For as long as I can remember, dancing has been her passion in life and has even gotten into choreographing a few dances herself. When she's in her element it is best to let her do her thing. We have won several ballroom dancing competitions since we were kids, unfortunately life kind of took over for me with work, school and this Knight thing that I'm still trying to figure out that I don't really have much time to allocate towards practicing. I know she's disappointed but she doesn't seem to hate me for it.

Okay, I get that. I agree banning guns isn't the solution. All that does is say "I don't know the solution but I know I won't be giving up my guns". We seem really good about saying what we won't do....but no one seems to be working toward what we can. Even at the state level, everyone treats like talking about solutions is the 3rd rail of politics and people would rather keep their office.Irish 2.0 said:The problem is that everyone on the left is calling for outright bans while at the same time shouting to defund the police. What we can do to deter gun violence and illegal possession of firearms is to actually enforce the laws on the books and not let everyone out of jail. Get caught illegally carrying a firearm, mandatory 3yrs. Using a firearm in the commission of a crime, mandatory 15yrs. Actually firing a firearm and causing bodily harm, mandatory 25yrs. Killing someone with a firearm, life. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. You've proven that you cannot function in normal society, so you will never step foot amongst normal society again.BluHorseShu said:Okay, I get that. I agree banning guns isn't the solution. Banning guns is the only solution the Left/Dems will accept. That is the reason there is no dialogue about what to do. Conservatives have ideas, but the Left isn't interested in mitigating the problem. They want to disarm the public and gun hysteria is their way to do it. If it doesn't advance gun confiscation/bans they aren't interested.Quote:
