If it's a sort of basket style container it's a standard size and replacements are easy to come by if you're interested.

As a conservative, I 100% believe the baristas are in the right, and Starbucks should get to the negotiating table.

As a conservative? Whatever dude.

Starbucks came to the bargaining table. SWU treated the negotiations like a press event.

This isn't about the workers for SWU, it's about a social movement. As they get closer to facing a decertification, the union will give up their demands just to have a contract, even if the terms are worse than what they had before.

And as a conservative, you should not be in favor of labor cartels.

I believe that if they want better pay and benefits then they should find a job that offers it.

Wrong. Starbucks is a woke leftist company that funnels massive amounts of money into left wing causes. If those profits get funneled back into the workers and out of leftist causes, or even better, if the company goes under because of the horrid leftist policies the company pushes, that's a win for conservatives.

I can't imagine the mental anguish those weak wristed losers must feel.

The absolute sense of overwhelming entitlement to think you deserve union representation to make coffee is astounding.

Exactly where do you think the union dues will go? Directly to D politicians. Unions are the top political donors in the US.

Of course, the employees who were dumb enough to buy the garbage being sold by the unions are the ones who will suffer. They've already lost out on raises that went to the rest of the company. They will likely lose their jobs as the locations close. And the union? They'll disappear.

Sure, some of the Union dues will go to Dem politicians, but if the employees force the company into higher wages, less in aggregate will go to Dem causes. Corporate America has gone woke. Maybe if conservatives stopped taking the side of corporations fiscally all the time, corporations would stop crapping on conservatives all the time.

Riiiiiight. 100 stores unionizing (out of 9000) is going to hurt SBUX profits. Nope. Want to stop corps from going woke? Stop ESG and stop the DNC. Corps act in their own self interests. And stop the teachers' unions. More than 60% of Gen Z views Socialism favorably.

Supporting Marxism through unions sure as heck isn't the answer.

I get that unionization is anathema, but the conservative coalition is too small now to have more than the occasional national victory each decade. So you have to find ways to fracture the progressive coalition.

No, conservatives aren't going to win any votes from the baristas, but by supporting Starbucks unionization, you take money out of the TrevorProject and ActBlue and put it into the pockets of a few union bosses and employees.

But the beauty of "supporting the union" (and where is the party fracking comes in) is that the Democrats aren't the party of unions any more. They're the party of Larry Fink and BlackRock. Big Wallstreet is going to fight tooth and nail against unionization.

So as conservatives, sit this one out, and support the side that hurts the progressive coalition the most. I with the Starbuck Union!

You make some valid points. The management-union landscape has become quite confusing and gray these days. I've dealt with unions for years from the management side and can speak to their absolute corruptness and worthlessness for most of my corporate career. Generally speaking, union leaders are some of the worst humans you will ever deal with who line their own pockets while simultaneously protecting abject criminals and incompetents within their organization. Management also does the former but nothing like what unions will excuse at scale on the latter, comparatively speaking.

However, within the last few years corporate management has gotten so ridiculous with ESG, political correctness, and being so far out of touch with reality that you can't help but hate both sides of the equation. And that's due to the left finally realizing that to attack corporations from the outside wasn't working. Instead, they infiltrated via shareholder proposals and then simple demographics of the younger mostly Marxist generations growing in number and becoming half or more of most big companies.

The tide has fully turned at this point and both unions and corporate management are left wing advocate groups. If I'm a big company, I try to figure out how to go private or stay private.

Starbucks revenue will decrease by 30% over the next 3 years. They expanded way too far in last 5 years for this crap and their crap coffee to continue to flourish.

Which will give them the excuse to close the unionized stores (assuming any of them get a contract - and that's a big assumption).
