Maybe we should force their owners to get insurance to own those dogs. Or maybe get a license?

Pretty much all the good insurance carriers won't insure you if you have a pit bull.

I mean, to be fair, there is no constitutional amendment guaranteeing your right to have a dog bred to kill.

Living on a farm we have seen many dogs come and go over the years. Some run over by vehicles some needed to be put down for harassing livestock and a couple with aggressive tendencies even though they may have been good watch dogs. I always liked to test a suspect dog as they came of age using a stern voice if you could get them to cower down and remove a steak bone that had been given to them. I can't imagine the way a pitt can suddenly snap what they're reaction would be to this small test or how a small child is perceived. when approaching the dog dish. Having small grandkids now I wouldn't want a pitt anywhere around!

No, you're not wrong, but it's a terrible argument when framed against a constitutional amendment.

Another issue is that guns are inanimate objects. They don't leave the closet and shoot people.

Dogs can and will leave the yard and do so, with no help from their owner. There's a reason you can't just own a tiger most places.

People have already allowed the government to suppress their right to own dogs by requiring licensing and registration.

just a matter of time before your dog serious injuries someone.

I have done quite a bit to ensure that doesn't happen, and have done it with all the other 4 dogs we have as well. When I decided to keep her I worked extensively at training her and socializing her. I am almost 9 years in and no bad signs yet.

It is all anecdotal, happy feeling fluff, but when I had her in Nicaragua the neighborhood kids would come down and get her to play in an open field next to our townhouses (gated neighborhood) and she was well liked by all.

When I took her down there I went house to house, only about 15, and introduced her and asked if anyone had an issue. Some were leery but nobody did. If anyone would have, I would have moved.

I am a big fan of my dog, not so much others. I think time has to go into them when they are young and probably most people shouldn't own one.

I am on a plane this morning and will be gone for 5 days, I feel a lot better knowing my wife, daughter, and 83 year old declining father have her with them.

Show credible scientifically backed research that shows guns have a functioning brain that determines when it should fire.

Charge neighbors with attempted manslaughter. Bet this **** will slow down if that stance is taken.

DGAF about your pretty pictures with kids and parrots and cats and such.

Complete trash dog. I'm sure it's just a misunderstood "nanny dog".

Apparently the cholo y chola juera that owned the attacking dogs have a long history of being human garbage.
Now their familia is going after witnesses.

Residents who witnessed deadly dog attack on San Antonio's West Side reportedly receiving death threats
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) Residents who witnessed a deadly dog attack in a West Side neighborhood are reportedly receiving death threats and their property is being vandalized.

That's according to a report from KSAT-12.

Witnesses are now saying since the attack, their lives are being threatened in retaliation for their statements to police.

The SAPD tells KSAT they are looking into the threats and whoever is making them could be charged with a felony.

Police have recently released information about past problems at the home of the dog owners.

Records show officers responded to calls concerning the residence more than 100 times in two years.

Some of the complaints were of shots fired, complaints about animals and at some point, Child Protective Services were brought in.

Just had someone call wanting to rent a place from me. Answered all of her questions, but I had a feeling she was saving the best for last. Finally, she asked if we were "pet friendly" which is a code phrase. I always reply that it depends if the pet is "people friendly" and has the genetics to not be. I asked what kind of pet and she said she had two dogs (again, saving the best for last). She said she had a little dachshund and a pit. I said I can't help you then, we don't allow pits and the like on the property. I guess she has been turned down a few times because she didn't even bother to argue that more people get bitten by chihuahuas, lol.
