how will all the millenials survive without Instagram?!?!
It would be much, much worse than no interwebs.

It is incredible the incompetence of our military leadership. Using all this fire power to shoot down a ballon the size of VW is an over kill. Just put a 20 to 30 mm cannon into the ballon and it will float down slowly and they can watch the landing location.

Our military leadership today is so incompetent it is causing a concern. We are not prepared with the quantity and technology.

I hate this statement about not shooting down the first large ballon in deep water. Again. Put a few bullet holes in it and it will float down over land and it the decent can easily be watched.

The first balloon was flying above the F-22's Vulcan cannon operational ceiling. The F-22 is the only American fighter aircraft that can fly upwards of 60,000 feet. The cannon is behind a bay door powered by an actuator that has to be able to open and close. The altitude at that level affects it's ability to open and close. Thus, the AIM-9X.

No, you really need an F-22 for that. A Citation's max operating ceiling is only 51,000 feet.

This is probably not real, btw.

The wreckage of whatever this was could be sitting out on the ice in US territorial waters. If they don't find it before spring it will sink to the ocean floor. I'd imagine other nation states will have an interest in whatever it is.

Who has the largest most modern icebreaking fleeting in the world? That would be Russia.
is there any reason to think it was NOT Russia or China?

no one else really has an interest in sending UFOs over the Arctic and into the USA

except of course the Aliens.

good thing I don't have to worry about Iranian nuclear weapons anymore now that the Aliens have arrived.

LOL yes that's my point

American civilization would collapse within two days

if our enemies were intelligent they would use EMPS and not blast nuclear weapons destroying our cities.

ironically enough, in Red Dawn the F-16 pilot shot down discussed that the Russkies had used some EMPs to shut down our defenses.

nowadays the inner cities would starve in a week and it would be real life "Walking Dead" chaos across the country.

Yep.

24% of the American public is on some type of psychotropic medication. Another chunk after that is addicted to caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, sugar or some other addictive drug. You'll have people eventually going through withdrawals and going crazy.

"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

So our choices are Russia, China or aliens.

Is that what it boils down to?

Montana incident is fourth 'balloon' incident to date according to MT congressman.
Quote:

Rosendale continued: 'The first we shot down over the Atlantic. One was shot down before it entered into Alaska's airspace. A third was shot down, Trudeau ordered over Canada. So now we're talking about a fourth incident.'

He said he was told the Pentagon would follow the object, but were unable to shoot it down because it was dark.

'DOD told me that they are going to be tracking the object - they can't even say exactly what it is - they are going to track the object until it gets light again,' he said.
1. Well its light now, so wtf is going on?

2. Surprised that we can't shoot down aircraft at night, what are they talking about.

3. They were ready to shoot down spy balloon #4 over Montana when just one week ago, shooting down spy baloon #1 over montana was too dangerous to people on the ground. What changed?

Yeah we might be able to shoot down a balloon, during daylight hours, and maybe find the wreckage within a day or so. Yay, 21st century technology! America!

We need friggin' lasers on sharks and fighters, dammit.

This entire episode has likely been some sort of DARPA project trolling everyone.

Chinese spy balloon causes panic. NORAD adjusts sensitivity of radar systems. Conventional military gets involved and starts shooting down our own experimental aircraft. That's the explanation that makes the most sense to me.

Takeaway is that it's highly likely that we have some sort of experimental technology that we don't know about and the entire story to date has been bs.

Worse than that are the numbers on heart meds or diabetes meds. Not just withdrawal, death for many of those.
