I'll add you to the TXAGFAN, ActuallyTalkingThermos list of people who I need to have disagree with me. Children are the future, and they are under attack by the left. The family is and has always been the bulkwark against leftism, so it is no surprise that children are under attack.

His OP is specifically addressing the porn issue among children. His title says he wants to criminalize. One can respond (as others and myself have done) by saying maybe not criminalizing but definitely need to make it harder for kids to access it. That's how people can bounce ideas off of each other and reach a sound resolution.

Instead, most everyone else has just screamed "authoritarianism" rather than adding any thoughts at all.

OP is not cryptic. He is what I call a "Vatican I Catholic" (not meant pejoratively, just a descriptor) Unabashedly in favor of the stricter approach more typical of a Pius IX or Pius II than people are used to. The authoritarian is a part of that -- - mind, it is not totalitarian, but it is autocratic in tone. The kind that feels if you give serious sin an inch it will take 1000 miles. Also a believer in the Paul VI warning about the sexual revolution/pill.
The sexual revolution was absolutely a government psy-op fomented by the Marxsists to destabilize our society. All of the communists that McCarthy warned us about were absolutely entrenched and doing exactly what he said they were doing.

Please read this article and let me know your thoughts, its long but good.

I'm not being obtuse nor making stuff up about you. I simply rerouted the conversation to the topic at hand.

You and I are in agreement that children having porn is bad. You agree with the OP on that in fact. OP believes porn should be criminalized. I believe there are practical steps that can be taken to reduce porn's footprint and accessibility on the internet without an outright ban. Do you have any thoughts to share along those lines rather than commenting on his claim that catholic couples have lots of sex or his thoughts on governmental structures?

Unbelievable

Actually, it's quite believable that a resident leftist would be all in favor of any kind of sexual perversion.

This article is fantastic and is an absolute must read for anyone interested in the topics at hand.

Support you on this one. You may be a single issue type poster and I enjoy pointing that out, but I have never seen you attack or condone attacking children.

But... you may want to consider how you approach issues that would allow someone to reach that conclusion.

Hahah -- it may be snarky, but its kind of like being called a Nationalist. There are many that don't consider it a negative. "Tradcaths" is probably one of those. I admire a great deal about them -- or as term them `Vatican I' Catholics. (Note-- above that keyed wrong--that is meant to be Pope Pius XI, and should have used the Roman numeral)

Certain derails on this thread brought up this memory. I grew up on a small ranch next to a larger one owned by a big Irish Catholic family. My dad and I were helping the dad with something one day and he mentioned his wife was pregnant again. They were in their early 40's and this was kiddo #10.

So I hear my dad jokes "you know Tim, if it helps, I can explain to you why this keeps happening" and he responded "if I didn't know why this keeps happening I'd have 25".

I don't disagree with this. I was very proactive in teaching my kids about it in phases as they grew up.

As early as 5th grade they could repeat a 5-6 distinct reasonings to avoid it and the negative affects of can have (spirituality is only one).

One of the others which had a big impact is teaching them the impact "demand" has on "supply", and how supply drive the increase in human trafficking. The majority of the women in porn are to different degrees victims of abuse.

But by all means, let's have more dudes come here to defend it.

Porn is simply another attempt to normalize deviant behavior. It's terribly hurtful to women. How any man with a daughter or a sister can watch porn and think it's anything other than misleading and damaging to women amazes me. It's not any different than transgender grooming and education of our children.

Or maybe a lot of parents that are concerned their children are getting their brain chemistry re-wired and not in a good way.

I haven't regularly attended church in years.

Maybe, but I've learned that the loudest voices against vice are secretly committing them.

I mean, we are at the point where leftists are trying to normalize pedophilia and we've got an OP that's concerned about consent and paid adults having rough sex. The rough porn says a helluva lot more about the consumers than the industry.
Does the name Jerry Falwell jr and his wife ring a bell? They were simultaneously the biggest sexual freaks and hypocrites on the planet.

From the posts in this thread, I'm reading that this is the fault of public schools (and, of course, the evil democrats), but not very much personal responsibility. It's great to know there are no Republican deviants.

For those thinking sending their kids to Christian schools will keep their snowflakes safe, well, whatever helps you sleep at night.

My buddy got into drugs in Plano ISD back in the 80s. His parents enrolled him at Jesuit in Dallas. He met a lot of wealthy druggies there. But, please send your kids to Christian schools.

This. There are many things that children should be taught by parents, and this is one of them. Plus, not so sure how good a job the government, the nanny state, would do. They fail at most everything.

Of course private religious school isn't going to do the job of a parent, but if you can out your child in a place with children of like minded parents instead of just let the chips fall where they may with public schools, why would you not do the former? Nothing beats being an involved parent, obviously.

It is actually very different.

Because porn by law has to be filmed between consenting adults.

Also the difference between the number of men and the number of women who watch porn is closing fast.

Adults who willfully or negligently allow children access to drugs, guns, and other items that may otherwise be legal but harmful are held to account. We should do the same thing with porn. Prosecute those who distribute or fail to secure the porn from minors and children.

Thank you. Same thing we did with tobacco marketing to children. PornHub may not be marketing on Nickelodeon, but it's so damn easy for kids to deep dive into whatever the hell they want to see that they may as well. Negligence is being too kind by several degrees, but it's the best word to describe it.

And I will repeat for the 3rd or 4th time for all the parents out there waving this off: if you think you have your child's device sufficiently locked down, you're wrong.
