How does that work for the owner? Surely he doesn't just have to take the L
Sure the way that was exchanged was worked out without large tax consequences. I do have a problem with the house being demolished now, however. There hasn't even been a formal plea yet much less a trial.Sea Speed said:
I saw that, but thats a tax write off as a charitable donation, hardly the same thing as several hundred grand for a sale plus whatever cash flow. Ouch.
Well, the jury never gets to make that request. Usually it is a motion by the defense.AggieAces06 said:
I would think they would wait until after the trail at least. Could it be possible for the jury to want to take a field trip to the crime scene?

And FTR: when Judge Ito allowed it in the OJ trial, it was reversible error. The second sidenote on that OJ thing was that Johnny Cochran had the house redecorated to make it a Black Pride house with changing out all the artwork with pieces from his collection of black artists. Totally staged scene. And it was not the murder scene. Completely whacked.
But here, with a very large property around 1700 acres, and 1100 feet between the main house and the kennels? Would have some impact. My ranch house is 1600 feet from the highway. That's a long way. We never walk it. We use vehicles, ATVs or UTVs. Mail service will not come up our road we are so far off.
Sorry. Same request was made in the Murdaugh case. My bad. My very bad.chickencoupe16 said:aggiehawg said:Well, the jury never gets to make that request. Usually it is a motion by the defense.AggieAces06 said:

Valid points; wrong case
If he'd just showed up dressed as a woman (what is a woman btw) he'd have gotten an raise.aggiehawg said:
Guy was a creeper, confirmed.
That seems to be, possibly, a HUGE deal! And doesn't seem that anybody is picking up on that. I've seen people all over twitter talking about the "sheathed kitchen knife" and completely ignoring item #1 on the list "knife"MsDoubleD81 said:
Documents released of items seized at Kohbeger house in PA. First item on list "knife", plus lots of black clothing including face masks.

Mancuso tells us that discovery cleared up another part of the investigation.
Mancuso says, "A trash pull that was done days before recovered DNA profiles but not from him, only from his family members."

If they hard the murder weapon, we would have heard by now gag order or not.Bluecat_Aggie94 said:
I keep going back to the list of items they seized. Item #1 on the list is "knife" with no other description. There is no definitive source commenting on this that has said it is NOT the murder weapon, and given the gag orders, they are unlikely to. I have raised this issue in several forums and discussions, and a few have said "they said they don't have the murder weapon" but I cannot find an actual source for that. So it is possible that item 1 IS the murder weapon.
If it is, then this guy truly is an idiot. My hunch all along has been that the time his phone was off and when he took the circuitous route south after the murders that he dumped the knife and changed his clothes. He might have even pre-planned a place on that route to shower or clean up. So while I'm not expecting to find out that item 1 on the list is the weapon, I have been surprised a couple times at just how dumb this dude has been.
4:21am - odd coincidence.MsDoubleD81 said:
Would you buy the house? I also saw Kaylee's sister had her baby.
News in the #Kohberger trial, he is being investigated for other similar crimes. How will this affect the #Idaho4 case? My thoughts premiere on YouTube tonight at 8:45pm ET. #LawyerYouKnow
