Found this, that makes an interesting point. Uke AD hits incoming Russian missile which then heads off course into Poland.

I think this is most likely what happened.

Trying to put missiles on a target that close to the Polish border is a helluva gamble for such a minor objective, though. That's some serious FAFO territory right there. Not smart from a risk/reward standpoint. If this bites them in the ass, they'll have earned it.

Whoever chose that target should probably stay away from windows for the foreseeable future.

Nobody has any idea what's happening.

We know.
We need to hurry up and fight 3rd World War first over this incident so we can then determine later all the circumstances including Russia's intent.

Treat it like a bloated government health bill....... Pass the bill first, and THEN find out what's in it!

Seems logical.

Literally no one is saying this. Instead we have actual people on this site suggesting that this was done on purpose as part of some grand conspiracy to distract from the elections/cause a world war.

Sadly people like Tulsi Gabbard will say this is all Ukraine's fault.

Yes yes every government has to call a war something politically palatable, we do the same.

But at the end of the day it's a war.

"Indeed, so far everything indicates that a Russian missile or cruise missiles fell on Przewodw in the Lublin province.

And I emphasize again: we are not intentionally attacked by anyone. There is no reason to fear and panic. We are not threatened by war. The security of the country is not at risk.

I've had a telephone conversation with an expert who assessed that the remains of this cruise missile look like the remains of a Kh-101 missile. Such cruise missiles were used by the Russians today to fire at targets in Ukraine."

Grain dust explosion is way too much of a reach I think. Possible? Perhaps in a lab setting with an concerted effort to make it so with that size space. It's the same concept behind our thermobaric weapons. I don't see the dispersion variable being perfect enough in this hole to create an explosion enough to derail heavy machinery.

I think the reach is assuming a Russian missile landed right in the middle of a grain pit.

It's not on railroad tracks, it's a grain trailer that got flipped on it's side. Depending on load, it might not be very heavy.
From this pic, it doesn't appear the tractor was anywhere near a grain yard.

It is a massive difference between errant Russian missiles and missed Ukraine AA that landed in Poland.

Indeed, but we don't yet know which one it was, and there wouldn't be any air defense missiles in the air if Russia wasn't firing missiles into Ukraine anyway.

You are correct that we don't know, but the bolded is weak sauce. This is a war.

It's an invasion. Could be ended very easily if one country took their **** and went home.

So in reality it was Ukraine that fired missiles that landed in Poland, a NATO country, and killed two people.

Not at all?

Well If they are Ukrainian missiles then yes

That isn't what any of the available evidence is indicating. At most, the Ukrainians shot down missiles that were flying towards them.

And if the way they chose to fight that war affects other countries, they should be held responsible, right?

100% they should. But the question is who is to hold them responsible? I have a feeling we are going to foot the bill. Yet again.

Yes. Whoever fired the missile that killed those poor people should pay reparations to their families.

We often call them `police actions' or `liberations'.

Believe this attempted strike at a power plant explanation is the most likely. And then being knocked off course.

Its part of the attendant dangers of being adjacent to a war. Not good, but a reality.

Group claims missle to be S-300 fired by Ukraine. Maybe it missed the Russian missle? I don't know much about the RU inventory aside from some GRAU index numbers.

Supposedly the Russians upgraded their stock of the 5v55 serries by 2012 (According to wikipedia)?

Poland appears comfortable enough that they've ascertained the cause to be missiles of Russian origin.

Many similar components to KH-101, which is what Poland is reporting it was. Of course, that doesn't preclude it having been shot down by UAF AD but Poland seems to be indicating, preliminarily, based on the PMs statement that it was Russian missile only. We should know more past midnight our time as day starts over there. It's middle of the night for them atm.

Isn't Ukraine's stocks also Russian made if it is not the weapons they got from us recently? We are going to need launch and travel trajectories rather than composition.
Rossticus
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I tend to agree. S-300 and KH-101 have similar components and there's not much we can glean from the scraps in the photos.

Yes. Russia launched roughly 100 missiles at Ukraine earlier today.

The media is already running with the "IT MUST BE RUSSIAN" story.
Be ironic if the media drags us into another war.
Edit, Polish gov statement to the incident:

Announcement in connection with the summons of the ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

On November 15, 2022, another massive shelling of the entire territory of Ukraine and its critical infrastructure, conducted by the armed forces of the Russian Federation, took place for many hours. At 15:40 in the village of Przewodw in the Hrubieszw poviat in the Lubelskie Voivodship, a Russian-made missile fell, killing two citizens of the Republic of Poland. In connection with this event, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Zbigniew Rau, summoned the ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and demanded immediate detailed explanations.
