All This Bashing About Trump

The greatest damage Trump did was claim the election was stolen without solid evidence at the time. That made any questioning of how things were handled a far-right conspiracy.

From that time forward, any legitamite election reform talks were always going to be spun as conspiracy.

Huge damage.

I agree to some extent that Trump played a part in last night not turning out the way we all wanted. But to say all the Trump backed candidates lost is pathetic not even close.

In no particular order of Trump backed who won and I'm sure I will not even mention all:

Ken Paxton
Greg Abbott
Beth Van Duyne
Dan Patrick
Frederick Frazier
Dawn Buckingham
Monica De La Cruz

Ron Johnson will win
Kari Lake is still in the hunt
Adam Laxalt is leading
Joe Lombardo- Nevada Governor
All the Florida winners
Ted Budd for NC Senator
Hershel Walker will be in a runoff

So I don't get all this bashing I don't get it at all.

We are going to win back the house and if Adam Laxalt can keep his lead Ron Johnson wins and if Herschel wins the runoff we control the Senate
I think you've done a lot LDP, but I can't hide my frustration that Trump is too big a drag. We have to win in 2024 or we won't get another chance for a while. There will be too much censorship, too many people ground under the federal leviathan of the FBI, IRS, etc.

The Trump problem really isn't about Trump. The bigger problem is that there is no leadership or coherent message in the Republican party. There's no alternative to Trumpism on the national level.

The whole RNC leadership should be removed.

Actually, the biggest problem is media is 100% leftist now and not even trying to hide the ball. It's 24/7 mah insurrection this is your last chance to vote for democracy or your kids will die. Even if that stupid message only lands with 5% of the population, that is a 10 point swing.
They are a problem, but how did that stuff start? The head of the party claimed a stolen election on election night without any solid evidence to back it up.

That's forehead slapping dumb. Watching it live you could tell it was a massive mistake. That moment paved the way for calling legitimate election reform discussions "election denying" and spun up into eventually Jan 6th.

If you give the media an inch, they will take a mile. Trump never cared about that, and it hurt.

His unnecessary name calling and **** talking. I was a Trump guy and would choose him over a Dem, but he needs to go...far far away forever.

But you cannot claim on the night of the election that it was stolen from you without at least some shred of evidence you could try to make a convincing argument out of.

Outright stating it was stolen without any evidence at all was a huge blunder.

Now election reform is an uphill battle in the rain.

You don't know what you are talking about.

1)There was solid evidence of unsolicited mail ballot harvesting/illegal drops, and illegal local election rule changes.

2) Had Jan 6 not happened, there were viable options to further expose the cheating and contest per the Electoral Count Act. So regardless of Biden being in WH, the fraud would be reviewed on merit, concrete evidence accepted, and new controls put in place.

The "insurrection" was the best thing to happen to Dem party since Watergate.

Senate is going to come down to run-off in Georgia.

We will see authentic leadership. Will Trump dump all that money he has accumulated into the Georgia runoff? I bet Mitch will direct the full strength of his PAC.

Bro, whether you want to believe it or not, Trump was a drag on the GOP last night, not a sail. Most of the names you mentioned were not going to be seriously challenged. Even a guy like Vance was never in any real trouble, Dewitt won by over 25 points, you'd have to damn near be caught murdering babies to not be able to ride that wave to victory. He helped a few, but he was far from being a King maker. Desantis is the future, Trump will be embarrassed in the primary in his home state, he's done.

OP - lots of people feelz get hurt by Trump so they like to go all sanctimonious. They're also the same folks who can standby and just watch when the Dems pull out the all stops " by any means necessary" to steal elections.

AZ has 20% of their machines to down
PA making up the rules as they go along
Not even going to bring up 2020.

In a perfect world Trump would be polished and still get things done, but he isn't. I personally care about results.

Let's see if Desantis weighs in on what is happening outside FL. If he is what people want, he needs to lead the entire team.

Wrong. He needs to not run and support DeSantis. Basically he needs to quit stirring up the TDS mob and announce he is NOT running in 2024.
TexAgs91
How long do you want to ignore this user?

He has every right to run, and not only deserves a 2nd term but was elected by the people in 2020 for a 2nd term.

As a candidate for 2024, he obviously doesn't have to support DeSantis, BUT he should respect DeSantis. I do not like the way he's treating DeSantis now, and will stop supporting Trump if he continues.

Stop derailing. You've got so much TDS you can't think straight. LDP was talking about last night.

Running anyone against Fetterman should have been a no-brainer. Oz was objectively a better choice than Fetterman. The problem is PA is f'd up. Trump's other endorsements have been great.

Oz was a carpetbagging left-leaning moderate that kissed the golden ring. Even with that baggage, he lost narrowly, but McCormick would have easily defeated Fetterman. Mastriano is a loudmouth blowhard and is currently trailing by 13 points.

PA isn't F'ed up, it's just purple like Arizona. You can't run candidates like Lake and Mastriano in those states and expect to win.

Actual legitimate votes show Biden won. They were legitimate because Dems won the job of getting emergency measures put in place while the GOP sat on their hands for months instead of fighting back against it. They changed the rules in plain sight and won. I recognize just crying and blaming the other for cheating is easier than facing reality that Trump and the GOP failed to play the game correctly, but that doesn't make it any less real.

No offense, LDP, but you're part of the problem. Your fanboy love for a charlatan is clouding your judgement.

Trump was what the Republicans needed because he was an outsider. What we all soon realized was that he's not a conservative. He's a narcissist who is making this all about himself. He keeps tripping on his own dick, and your love for him keeps you from seeing the big picture.

But hey, keep posting your text messages from Lara Trump and post all of those pics of you meeting politicians like they are celebrities. People are tired of it. It's time to move on.

The truth is somewhere in the middle.

Not every "Trump candidate" was rejected. Many ran on the MAGA platform and won. Others ran on it but under the DeSantis banner. The GOP doesn't need to embrace the establishment...they are still the bigger problem than Trump's personality.

However, Trump didn't help himself with his responses. He lost some capital in an effort to unite the party behind him again for 2024.

You don't get why people might be upset that Trump called JD Vance a sad ass kisser a month before the election (at a rally purportedly FOR Vance no less), was calling Ron DeSantis names days before the election, and was gloating that the Colorado Republican senate candidate got stomped last night?

It's very clear you're a smart, plugged-in guy, so you're definitely aware of all this and what it implies. Are you just ignoring data that you don't like because you're enjoying your proximity to power? What's going on?

Trump is too toxic and past his sell by date. I voted for him twice and would vote for him over any democrat. He needs to ride off into the sunset at this point. The less he says, the better.

I'd support sending him and all democrats to Russia with vape cartridges so they could hang out with Griner.
