That wasn't a dig at you, friend. Most people who vote are literally uneducated and simply vote for the party rather than who aligns with their ideals or for who will do what's best for the country.

Didn't say it was a dig at me.

I only stupidly voted once for a Democrat.

And you are correct about most voters.

And my statement stands, friend.

If there's anything I've learned in the past 2 years, it's that Americans are much better off without that joke of a politician in the White House.

Lol, you can't be serious. Grow up.

Sadly TDSers are.
I'm guessing you meant serious, not grown up.

I think voting for Obama is worse.

As a one-time thing maybe, but TDS is forever and debilitating. I made my mistake and not only didn't do it again, I learned from it. Admitted it and corrected it.

TDSers just get more insane and detached from reality.

Moving from voting for Trump to voting for DeSantis is not debilitating lifelong TDS. That is where a lot of conservatives are.

You seem to gravitate to cults of personality. Obama. Trump. I'd prefer voters focus primarily on conservative values above all.

Nope. I wasn't even talking about DeSantis, you brought that into it. I didn't gravitate to Obama, I voted against McCain, just like many Voted against Trump. Many conservatives who didn't care about his amazing results. Highlighted now by Biden's destruction of America.

I know you like to insult me constantly for my support of Trump, and it's your right to do so. But you being condescending has nothing to do with this particular discussion.

Trump treated the presidency as a business man, that's why everything was so much better than today, immigration, Oil & Gas, Investments, medical, Middle East, you name it. Excelled in most of it. But yet you still weren't happy.

All those things were what conservatives supported but due to many peoples hatred of Trump they voted against what they would normally support. That's idiotic.

Pretty much everything DeSantis is touting and supporting, Trump did as well and did it VERY well, but you can't give Trump credit for the exact same things DeSantis is doing.

If think DeSantises new tough guy routine over the past year isn't partially imitating Trump, you are sadly mistaken.

What does DeSantis support that Trump didn't?

Reagan is one of best presidents we've ever had, yet he started his career as a Democrat. He changed. Trump again treated many things conservatively but you don't care. He's a businessman, not a politician and thank God he was and is. Reagan was eloquent, Trump is not but he fought and still fights for the American people. DeSantis does and will too.

Some of you are so mired in you assigned roles of liberal/conservative you can't see that sometimes it's in the middle.

Agsin, you seem to take joy in talking down to me, well, keep at it, I won't back down from you.

Crazy spending, tariffs, little actual legislation passed, terrible hiring of his staff and Cabinet for the most part. Lost to Biden. Even if it was stolen, he allowed that to happen.

That is why Biden was able to dismantle nearly everything Trump did outside of SC nominations in 20 months. Trump is a sugar high. He did not institute true lasting change.

Continue to do the Trump thing if you'd like. It'll probably end the same. He is president for 4 years. Has difficultly hiring anyone good. Passes no meaningful legislation. President AOC takes power in 2028 and undoes 100% of his actions. Sorry if that doesn't sound good to me.

And this can include either those you expected to be good and weren't or others you hadn't planned to vote for but regretted shortly after the election?

I'll go first. Obama 2008.

Only major Democratic candidate I have ever voted for my life. I must've been out of my damn mind.

But I didn't like McCain.
Wait what? That reasoning means you didn't like McCain because he wasn't a big enough socialist. And I didn't think you rolled that way.

I didn't do my homework on Obama. I took him more at face value, I did the voting against someone instead of voting for someone thing. I told you I must've lost my mind. It's shameful but I've admitted it.
Understood. I read up on him before the election in 2008 and saw his ties to Bill Ayers, his socialist upbringing and his connections to the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. How he was going to take corruption from a small time gig in Chicago to the federal government. I remember doing a deep dive into all that pre-election and I was stunned. I literally felt ill. At that time we haven't seen corruption on that scale on its way into the White House and the general public was busy getting a thrill up their leg.

I know some didn't like McCain. I personally can't stand him. But he wouldn't have "fundamentally changed America" like Obama promised and succeeded at.

Biden has largely dismantled some of it because he has signed 104 executive orders, 109 presidential memoranda, 352 proclamations, and 65 notices.

1994 Ben Nelson vs Gene Spence for Nebraska governor. The Nebraska Republicans were dumb enough to nominate a pro-abortion candidate against supposedly anti-abortion Democrat Nelson. That allowed Nelson to win and get enough political traction to be the Senator who pushed Obamacare across the finish line. He never did 1 thing to help an unborn child either. Lesson learned: Never believe a Democrat on not being in total and complete support of all abortion when it comes down to them making the final call.

Well yea exactly. People got all excited because Trump was legislating nearly everything with executive orders. Even though this is the obvious result. The next guy can come in and undo everything. Trump will never have a long lasting impact outside of the courts. Because he has difficulty building coalitions even within the Republican Party to pass anything for note.

Yeah, I ****ed up and I've explained that several times.

I can't apologize any more than that. Just know your vote offset mine and if I hadn't voted at all he'd still have won, but I know that doesn't make it okay, but I can't change it until I have a time machine.

But keep saying the same thing, this is fun.

What exactly do you think has been happening at least since Clinton? I never said Trump didn't.

What will DeSantis do?

The next Republican President will have to undo a lot of dumb **** from poopy pants. Oil bring one of the first. Depending on the Congress how you you think anyone eill do that?

Our system has gotten worse every year.

Each one of those presidents signed some form of major legislation though (good or bad) and a lot of it is still around. US Patriot Act, No Child Left Behind (took 13 years to repeal), Sarbanes Oxley, Homeland Security Act, Obamacare, Dodd Frank. Those pieces of legislation had legacies that last beyond the Bush and Obama presidencies. Trump's legislative victories were a tax cut that expires in a couple years and a slightly tweaked NAFTA.

He doesn't have the ability to get things passed through Congress and into actual codified law.

I didn't want to vote Trump in 2016 and knew he would win Texas (I would have had it been close here, and he earned my vote in 2020), so I picked a third party candidate that I thought fit the bill, with admittedly not enough research. It was Evan McMullen, who is now running for Senate against Mike Lee in Utah, and has proven himself NOT to be the conservative I thought he was

I haven't voted for a winning presidential candidate since W.
