With the exception of active military, everyone should vote in person at polling place, on day of election. It's either that important or it ain't. Can't have it both ways.
If you are going to be out of town on election day, you should forfeit your right to vote?
How important is voting to you?
Right now, we have a number of people in the county on a construction project. Very few of them are from around here and after the project finishes, they'll go elsewhere to the next project. Should the construction project be required to shut down for a week or more so that all of their employees can return home to vote?
Of course, they are going to need to travel, too. Should the airlines be required to fly all their flight crews home and shut down for election days so they can vote?
How about long haul truckers?
Train workers?
Should we bring orbiting astronauts home to vote?
Families of soldiers away on deployment?
Just how much do you want to shut the country down?
