I guess it could be true if you consider going from 1 to 2 on a 100 point scale, as significant. 100% more than it was, but completely insignificant still.
I'm sure ESPan had a massive fight on its hands with Fox and NBC for the lucrative WNBA rights - you know the league that is subsidized by the NBA and still loses money


I've seen the difference in public interest for the NBA vs. the WNBA as being due to the NBA having "a fifty year head start". And the only reason Brittney Griner had to go play in Russia was sexism prevented her from earning an NBA-like salary.

The whole argument should stop at the fact that women don't even watch women sports at the same rate they watch mens sports. That is all the market research one ever needs.
