As a sexual preference, IMO homosexuality is mostly genetic. I say mostly, because I believe sexuality is a spectrum, most humans are 90+ % hetero or 90+% homo - and for eons the homosexual portion has been about 3.5 % give or take.

However now there seems to be a cultural/lifestyle/tribal choice to be "gay" that has little or nothing to do with any sexual act. That's why we see these absurd numbers of a quarter of 20 somethings "identifying" as gay. Indeed the entire term "identifying" indicates a choice - otherwise it would be "are" or "is" gay. The propagation of the species would be difficult if 25% of the population is truly homosexual. And it seems like it's more females than males choosing this cultural "gayness".

Except diversity isn't actually a strength. Members of protected classes should absolutely be hired, if they are the most qualified candidate. And more melanin in your skin, not having a Y chromosome or any of the other inclusion metrics doesn't make that person better at their job. Want to make sure they're in the running? Great. May the best candidate win, and that's best for the company.

If it's not a choice what is it? I don't doubt that their are biological factors, but if it were 100% biological wouldn't gays have died out thousands of years ago since they can't procreate?
