They write it as a medical procedure done in another state. So while clearly targeted it's not only abortion in theory.
Hmm, so if I need a routine colonoscopy or want to have some dental work done, I get a paid long weekend. Not bad.

A C-section can costs over $10k and necessitates a hospital stay of at least 2 days. They are cash cows for OBs and hospitals.

if you can't get it done in your state, then you may have a case.

A benefit that murders a child. disgusting. It should be outlawed.

I'll be extremely happy with the win.

For it to be a crime to cross a state line for an abortion, there would have to be a federal statute making it a crime.

Make it so that any company funding an abortion for an employee that does operations within the state gets fined $1 million per violation. Give whistleblowers protection and awards for reporting company violators.

When the stats came out that showed 95% of women do it because they wanted to that should have told everyone that it was always pro abortion and not pro choice. It was never about choice and always about pushing a global scale blood sacrifice.

You know you have true "F'k you" money when you're happy to piss off both sides of the political spectrum, and still make a killing.

Except this time it's actually true. 60 million babies have been murdered. Comparing the two is asinine.

Let me get this straight...

Disney's business model is dependent upon families having children, so that they can then turn around and spend their money on all things Disney that is geared towards families with children.

Thus, they are going to adopt a position that reduces their business plan's target population. Do I understand that correctly?

What the hell are they teaching in business schools these days?

There are better arguments to be made since Amazon pays 20 weeks maternity for "birthing people". It should be about Amazon donating $4000 to adoption charity everytime they payout $4k for an abortion.

Amazon probably gets more than $4000 worth of productivity from an employee at work for those 12 weeks if they don't have the baby. It is a business decision. Handmaidens Tale, indeed.

If a woman has the ability to terminate the life of a child, a man should have the right to end the financial obligation of a child during that same time period. Especially if the child is not the biological offspring. Which is the more severe?

It's funny how Republicans have somehow convinced people they care about people when they know, and freely admit, the only people that will be truly restricted by their big government policies will be those without means and who can least afford to have children. The common response to this fact being "dump the unwanted children into the foster care system" where our Republican-controlled government (whom Republican's always say 'can't do anything right') proves their supposition, once again, by underfunding and mismanaging to create an abhorrent system that delivers the poorest quality of life, and in extreme cases, a miserable death. It's all about illogical arguments made in bad faith to maintain one's perceived identity.

Not nearly as funny as Dems having a more extreme position than people in Old Testament times sacrificing newborns to Moloch. Late-term and time-of-birth abortion disgusts a huge majority of Americans, but is right there in the bill the Dems voted on yesterday.

This is like arguing it's ok to kill homeless people and dementia patients if we don't immediately have a plan to adequately care for all of them.

"Personhood" is an arbitrary and meaningless term. A fetus is no more or less a person (in any meaningful sense) than someone in a persistent vegetative state or someone with end stage dementia. Everything that made them a person is absent except for the most basic underlying biological reality, including the ability to survive on their own apart from advanced medical technology.

There is no argument for aborting fetuses that doesn't, by necessity, logically allow for the killing of certain groups you still consider possessing "personhood"

In every scenario, delivering the child in the third trimester when the mothers life is at risk is the standard of care. This is because it's faster and, in most cases, statistically safer than what is required to do to abort a third trimester fetus.

Any physician who offers an abortion instead of just delivering the baby in that scenario is doing so as a choice, not a medical necessity.
Carolin_Gallego
How long do you want to ignore this user?
You say it is an arbitrary and meaningless term and yet you defined it perfectly but then say it's illogical to use the definition when making decisions when that is exactly what the medical community already does with their right to refuse medical intervention.

You also miss the important distinction that the aborted never had personhood, and may never have it due to common and natural causes.
