Rock and a hard place. Satisfy your entitled employees and board members in California or deliver on your fiduciary responsibility and pick up the phone to DeSantis and apologize. Convincing these woke people that they have messed up is going to take a few heads on pikes (figuratively). Revoke the RC laws and let the copyright exemption of Disney fall off and all of a sudden you're going to see MUCH better behavior from a lot of people.

This will be an interesting vote. Plenty of Democrat reps in that area want Reedy Creek terminated.

Kind of puts them in a bit of a bind. They can get what they want. But in order to do so they have to stick it to their woke corporate ally.

There is nowhere else, with the kind of weather to support a park year round, that would welcome them in their current state. They've painted themselves into a corner and are now at the mercy of DeSantis and the Florida legislature.

i support this, corporations don't need or deserve special treatment over actual citizens

What is awesome about this is that it creates an open season on that park. Can you imagine doing 50 years of development without ever filing a permit or plans or anything with the county, and then having to backfill all of that?

If Disney starts being *******s, just shut a ride or two down until you get the permit situation figured out. Don't ever threaten to shut down the whole park, just a ride or hotel or restaurant at a time. Would be funny if a restaurant at Disney World was shut down due to health code violations.

Disney's used to getting their way, but this could turn into a real fued.

Reading more about the Reed Creek Improvement District, it states that Walt Disney created an east coast location due to the urban development around Disneyland. And you're right, nowhere else has the year around weather that Disney wants/needs. Florida has the mouse by the berries, and everyone knows it.

I've done a lot of reading about this issue, and apparently many of the Disney lobbyists in Tallahassee are beyond frustrated at the company's public approach to the law and at the same time, shocked at the public outcry.

They are used to working behind the scenes and getting what they want. Now they realize company leadership has made some powerful enemies who have public support.
