This would be very stupid. If it was indeed suggested then I would have serious questions about either the mental acuity or motivation behind the one who did so. As a result I have to believe that this lacks in accuracy.

Zelensky in Moscow would be a death sentence and everybody knows it. Stupid to even suggest this IMO

Here's an interesting piece on the early lessons learned from the return of maneuver warfare in Operation Vivaldi.

My primary takeaway is that the lessons learned from Ukraine haven't changed the prerequisites for maneuver warfare, they have simply reinforced what we already knew. Although the tools of war have changed (e.g. drones) every underlying lesson mentioned in the piece is already covered in US military doctrine.

"Maneuver warfare hasn't disappeared. The conditions required to create maneuver have changed." More accurately, he should have said: Maneuver warfare hasn't disappeared. The conditions required to create maneuver have finally been achieved by Ukraine.

VIVALDI

If this continues, we may need to make a new thread. However, speculation I've seen is that this campaign is to prove that Article 5 is "fake" and also to divert resources from Ukraine, rather than to start a full scale war with Europe.

"Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov claimed Europeans are preparing for war with Russia and alleged there are attempts to create a "Fourth Reich." He said Moscow considers an agreement to have been reached in Anchorage and remains ready to return to it. Lavrov also said Russia maintains several confidential communication channels with EU countries and accused Europeans of traveling around the world to purchase weapons for Kyiv. He argued the US would eventually have to embrace multilateralism. "

Look it's hilarious to see the country invading another accuse its adversaries of trying to start an empire but fundamentally it just illustrates these guys are so high on their own farts you can't reason with them. They are too disconnected from reality. Until a good swath of these guys at the top get replaced through whatever means, diplomacy is futile.

I will never understand Russia's ability to say stuff like that

They have a messianic complex about their role vis-a-vis their neighbors and their perceived adversaries. It goes back to tsarist times.

Prepping for a possible agreement to freeze along the current (imaginary) lines is my best bet

Clearly the only viable path to peace is to give Russia what they want. If the US and Europe would have avoided interfering then there would be no war, only peace, as Russia would have accomplished its objective quickly. Russia only wants peace. Acquiescence is peace. Resistance is warmongering.

Yeah. This stuff is exploding and getting even more interesting with the French preparing to revert to their natural preference for the white flag, AfD's nostalgia for East Germany, Slovakia and Hungary essentially signaling that Article 5 would be blocked/ignored. Russia is being encouraged to escalate and I expect that they continue to do so. Too much going on to put here without derailing. Eventually something big enough will happen to justify a parallel thread.

Tbey don't value individual agency; it is a legacy of the communist system. Everyone is a lego piece in the greater whole.

Terrorism is about inducing terror in the people you're attacking.

How you induce terror isn't important to the overall goal.

Still makes them a bunch of *******s and d-bags for what they're doing.

Russia doesn't even belong on the Security Council. Its spot belongs to the defunct Soviet Union.

Robots with Grenade Launchers Dismantle Enemy Positions: New Tactics During "Vivaldi"!

During the offensive operation of the Third Army Corps, fighters from the world's first assault NRC unit "NC13" upgraded ground kamikaze drones and employed cutting-edge strike tactics.

NRCs equipped with two Bullspike grenade launchers attacked the Russians at their positions, then detonated directly in their shelters. The occupiers thought they were being hit by an entire assault group. But in reality, it was the robots of the Third Assault that f*cked them over.

Yes, NRCs perform three tasks at once: they strike, exert psychological pressure, and clear the position. And most importantlythis happens without risk to our infantry.

No one in the history of the war has yet employed such tactics. The robots were controlled by operators from a safe shelter dozens of kilometers from the line of contact.

How the occupiers are savoring "Ryazan Sugar," "Chitanka," "Chipok," and "Waco Siege"in a video from the unit's operators!

"Waco Siege" sounds like a name tied to a donor's request.
