Russia has been using WP since beginning of the war.

As we were taught in ROTC (Sgt Pointon (sp.)), white phosphorus is against the Geneva Convention to be used against enemy personnel. Equipment is another matter……….like enemy belt buckles.
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

Ukraine: Why Are Russian Armored Vehicles Becoming Harder to Destroy?

The commander of the Ukrainian Azov Corps, Denys Prokopenko, warns that Russian tanks are now more difficult to neutralize. This evolution does not stem from a revolutionary new armor, but from the accumulation of complementary protections and improved tactical coordination.

The vehicles are receiving more explosive reactive armor, particularly on the sides and previously less protected areas. The initial makeshift "cages" are also being replaced by better-designed structures, sometimes installed directly at the factory. Their function is to trigger the explosion of hollow charges carried by FPV drones before they reach the main armor.

Some tanks are also equipped with the Arena-M active protection system. This detects the threat and launches a counter-munition to intercept rockets, anti-tank missiles, and certain drones. Following initial feedback from the front lines, Russia is considering increasing the number of its effectors from 12 to 36. Mechanical or electromagnetic mine-clearing devices complement this protection by detonating mines before the vehicle passes.

But the most significant evolution is tactical. Russian infantry seeks to infiltrate up to the positions of Ukrainian drone operators, while artillery strikes their launch zones. Armored vehicles can then be deployed in multiple waves: the first forces the defenders to expend their drones and anti-tank munitions, and the next attempts to exploit their depletion.

During one engagement, a Ukrainian unit reportedly used nearly 125 FPV drones to stop just two or three Russian tanks. This figure illustrates the limitations of a defense relying primarily on these devices: not all reach their target, jamming and protections reduce their effectiveness, and stocks must be rapidly replenished.

The Russian tank has therefore not become invulnerable. It simply takes more drones, successive attacks, or more powerful anti-tank weapons to achieve the same result. The idea that drones have rendered armored vehicles obsolete once again proves premature: Russia is learning from its losses and gradually transforming these lessons into mass-produced solutions.

How's all that work against javelin missiles?

Russia is getting bolder and bolder with NATO countries.

Quote:

(Translated from Polish)
We inform that on September 23 this year at 11:08 a.m., north of the town of Braniewo, there was a brief violation of the airspace of the Republic of Poland by an Mi-8 helicopter of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

The helicopter was conducting a flight from the Kaliningrad Oblast. It violated Polish airspace to a maximum depth of approximately 300 m and remained in it for 42 seconds.

The flight of the machine was observed by the radio-location systems of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland. Fighter aircraft were scrambled, and ground-based forces and assets remained on standby.

The nature of the incident indicates that Russia is once again testing the readiness of our air defense.

The crews of the Republic of Poland's air defense systems conduct round-the-clock observation, remaining in constant readiness to ensure the safety of Polish airspace.

Amazing how easy it is to win elections when you can ban your opposition from running.

Have you seen all the videos out of Russia of box stuffing, armed enforcement of "proper" voting, etc. ? Not to mention the broad internal commentary on officials no longer even being bribed, just strong armed.

lol there was one of a person squatting as she walked a ballot box over trying to hide from the cameras not realizing another camera had her. It's just ridiculous they even try to hide it.

They don't even need to do all that. There is a popular anti-war party, and they were banned from running for elections because they criticized the war. If you can just look at the landscape and remove whoever would be your biggest competition from the ballot, then you don't have to cheat that hard to win.

You have been stopped by heroic Ukraine, a country with one-tenth of Russia's GDP. But Poland has almost half of your GDP. Europe has 10 times your GDP. NATO has 25 times your GDP. You can still kill a lot of people, but you cannot win. You can stop this imperial war of choice at any time. Don't endanger Europe and the world any further. Stop destroying Russia's future. Sergey, I know you're listening. Tell your boss: 'enough is enough.' Thank you."

NOW we're getting to the heart of the matter. Pretense has finally evaporated. It's all bitterness over the loss of the Cold War and deterioration of Russian power.

Interesting article about how Ukraine is now using their artillery. It states that although this is now a drone war, artillery is still needed in certain situations where electronic jamming hinders drone use so artillery is brought in. The article further discusses which artillery shells are their favorite as well as what artillery piece they prefer to use. Good stuff

Pretty clear now that Russia is likely attacking NATO.

Interesting read.

"It is a concept of ours that was approved: combining artillery and drones within a single brigade," Korniienko said. "Drones take out enemy artillery and logistics, while our guns provide cover for the infantry, destroy targets, and pin the enemy down in their dugouts. This way, we mitigate the limitations of both systems and boost overall effectiveness.

For instance, we currently have several enemy targets in the Kupyansk sector that drones cannot reach due to electronic warfare (EW) interference, while slow fiber-optic drones are simply shot down," the officer noted. "What do we do? We call in artillery. Nothing affects its shells. Fog, strong winds, snow, or headwinds, it makes no difference to artillery; it will operate regardless."

Seriously. Russia needs to start having critical places mysteriously catch on fire and blow up too.

I think Ukraine has that nicely covered without needing a European assist (beyond it continuing to finance almost all of Kyiv's entire war effort).

I am thinking of places beyond the distance and scope of Ukraines missiles and drones. Like Russia's satellites or uplink/downlink nodes.

Update on Operation Vivaldi and other recent events: SITREP.

"Over the past 24 hours, two oil refineries were hit, one in Bashkortostan and one in the Samara region. There were also strikes in the Black Sea," the Ukrainian Defense Ministry stated on X. "We are taking the war back to where it came from. We are bringing peace closer for Ukraine. I thank the units involved for their precision."

Seeing some stuff that the Ukraine army has already crossed the Zherebets river and continuing to advance. Good stuff if correct.
