Mass shooting in Moscow just occurred. There were warnings a lil while ago of the danger of a public terrorist attack in Russia by our intelligence. This might have been it. Or tangentially related. I think the fear was polling stations being attacked but the shooters may have been spooked and postponed for a bit. Or this may be another thing entirely of course. Just reminded me how good our intel was on the invasion start. We nailed it on that one. Kudos to you, whoever the gubment watcher is on this site.

Undoubtedly. I remember watching a behind the scenes at a tank part factory over there a few years ago and every single precision machine that was in there and made post 1991, was either German or Swiss. They even made a point to call it out, like they were proud of that or something. Even back then I thought that was a weakness. I'll see if I can find it again.

Russia absolutely has some of the smartest and hardest working people in this world. They just don't have enough of them though and more importantly they don't have the full western structure of finding, cultivating, and maintaining/supporting them that most other first world nations do. Culture and corruption is a cancer on them. It costs them during interwar periods when an immediate critical need is not present and they no longer have the will or desire to pay up to develop what they need to to stay on par with the rest of the first worlds.

The problem for the rest of the world now being, proxy third party buyers for the western tech and parts they need. That is honestly a whole other massive topic in itself even outside this current war but plenty of evidence that it is alive and well and being utilized by Russia in certain critical wartime areas.

This. They actually end up negatively sorting for them in their military by rewarding sycophants who tell their commanders what they want to hear instead of what reality is. I doubt their industrial sector is all that different. They also lost a ton of those type of people between 1991 and 2022 with them leaving to go to places where their hard work and ingenuity would be rewarded.

I keep reading articles that now he won the election again, that he is going all in this war. They no longer refer to it as SMO. Thought is he needs to start mobilizing the metro population and a false flag would be a good start.
