How possible would it be to use large unmanned drones to be carriers for air to air missiles? Could that be something else they are now doing with the great advances they've made in drones? It sounds like Russia has pretty much sent their bombers on the same routes from the same bases most of the war. It could be possible the Ukes found a way to utilize our AWACs or similar to outline safety corridors from Russian SAM sites to send a mothership drone into range to ambush Russian bombers / fighters.

What's the saying? You don't have to be fast, just faster than the slowest person? Had the drone waited to hit the 2nd guy for two more seconds, it would have taken them both out since the first guy was basically walking.

Drone hits one guy, teammate just continues walking away with a shot hitting nearby at the end.

Good to see the Brad use cover and not just mindlessly assume it was safe by itself. Wouldn't it have infantry support too, or is that only a tank thing?

I saw a couple dismounted UA infantry on the left side of the screen at the very end of the video surveying the carnage.

Insane those guys didn't try to get better cover. They just sat there and got slaughtered.

Russia probably has operational aircraft, they're just not using them in or around Ukraine because the risk has become too great. They have little reason to use up airframe hours elsewhere, so they're probably all grounded for now.

Even we have trouble keeping our aging AWACS in the air. The E-3 is old AF. The youngest ones are over 30 years old, and they're all 707 airframes. I had an ABM buddy who went to deploy to the UAE like 3 times, but every time they got ready to leave, "The jet was broken."

The Bradley is an IFV, so it would normally be carrying infantry. You can see some right at the end of the clip.

Know a former AWACS crew member that once said one of the most important things to know about a particular aircraft was each hydraulic circuit's fluid loss in L/hr so it could be replenished accordingly...

I have been following several feeds including this one regarding Russian equipment losses. Does anyone know how much the Russian military has been degraded by this war. They seem to roll out an almost endless supply of equipment from storage. For example they had almost 20,000 BMP-1 in storage by some accounts.

Like us, the Russians spent decades arming for a war that was never fought. It will take time to burn through that.

Biggest benefit to dropping stuff like spikes (caltrop), mines, etc is that they don't need to go find a target that may be moving. You just go to a road you know they're likely to use.

Agree. Although I would argue that the war is being fought right now, just not in the time/place/rules of engagement that they expected & planned for.

Unfortunately, it seems the West is burning through their stockpiles of certain weapons(ie 155mm shells, anti tank, and certain Manpads) faster than the Russians et al.

This video popped up a few days ago and reminded me of that. You can clearly hear and see the back drivers side tire blow. Probably not indicative of the overall global situation but amusing to me nonetheless.

I know we have our own tires popping in our forces as well, that's just reality. But I am struggling to remember even one going due to something other than foreign objects from my few years in. And we utilized wheel vehicles constantly and they were absolutely not in the greatest condition. Literal hand me downs from units swapping in and out of country. And every single one of ours were grossly overweight that we largely had to fix ourselves on the spot. I remember gearboxes shredding, engines blowing, U-joints dying, suspensions being nonexistent....but never any tire problems I can recall anecdotally.

Having said that, drones have really changed things on the battlefield. In this case they may be better than artillery. More precise, likely cheaper, and without the manpower and logistical tail artillery needs.
