I'm mocking putin. He can't do a damn thing no matter what we send Ukraine
Spain says it will send 53 Leopard 2s to Ukraine - half its fleet, and > sixth of total Ukraine says it needs to defeat Russia. The 53 might be those noted as mothballed in this article, and will require refitting before sending, which may delay delivery.https://t.co/BAK1gzK6J2

The reference article doesn't say how many Spain will donate, only that it has 108 Leo's of which 53 are in storage?Waffledynamics said:Spain says it will send 53 Leopard 2s to Ukraine - half its fleet, and > sixth of total Ukraine says it needs to defeat Russia. More on the Abrams decision. OPTIONS
"The U.S. will likely remove classified electronics from the Abrams before shipping them to Ukraine, similar to what it did with a Stinger missile part last year. Yet Lockwood noted that even a somewhat stripped-down Abrams, if captured by Russian forces, could help Moscow look for vulnerabilities or reverse-engineer NATO technology. "I suspect there are a lot of people in the Army who are not happy about this whatsoever," he said."

Direct involvement would be NATO forces wiping the floor with that pathetic excuse for an army.

No US versions. I'd agree China/Russia have probably examined export versions without DU armor and other advanced features.cbr said:how many abrams got abandoned in the me or stan? i'm sure there have been russians all through those.74OA said:

The reverse. If Ukraine still had its ex-Soviet nukes, Putin would never have invaded.LMCane said:AgLA06 said:

Turns out having nuclear weapons actually makes war more likely and of longer intensity.
if the Russians had no nuclear weapons, NATO would liberate Ukraine in about 6 days.

Once executed it deletes shadow copies, recursively overwrites files located in %CSIDL_SYSTEM%\drivers, %CSIDL_SYSTEM_DRIVE%\Windows\NTDS and other non-system drives and then reboots computer. Somebody posted an article on this way back. Not just the US, apparently there are more operational (or close thereof) F16s around the world than any other platform. Maybe more importantly more F16 pilots worldwide as well that possibly could be used as volunteers. Maintenance parts are also readily available.fullback44 said:
The US has tons of F16s in storage that will probably never be used again besides for practice drones .. we should give 50-100 of them armed to the teeth to Ukraine .. better than letting them rot in storage
Some are starting pick up what I have been telling all along. The slaughter in Bakhmut has no military value, but is a way for Prigozhin to put himself in the middle, with all consequences for Putin, or others, such as Shoigu, Kadyrov or Medvedev. Dictatorships work like that. https://t.co/tVV6GurMy3

getting each one airworthy for battle would take time and a lot of money. If you going to do it right, send them the F16 that are still in service and send these mothball ones for spare parts.fullback44 said:

F-16s are just as vulnerable to the very capable and very dense Russian air defenses surrounding and firing into Ukraine as are current UAF fighters. A more effective option is to give Ukraine more advanced western SAM systems, like Patriot, on a faster timeline. That would have the far more immediate benefit of both holding out Russian warplanes and intercepting the long-range TBMs and cruise missiles being lobbed at Ukraine from inside Russia.PA24 said:getting each one airworthy for battle would take time and a lot of money. Isn't the Patriot still one of our main mission defense systems ? I don't see us giving up to many of those unless we have plenty to spare ? I have no idea on this ?

Soledar fell, Bakhmut soon to follow. Russians making small advances along the contact line, particularly in the south.
Ukraine is snatching up conscripts off the streets, presumably to form the bulk of a new offensive using all the new goodies they're getting.
There is an expectation of a large offensive from the Russians but it's anyone's guess as to where and when.
