By all accounts, life as a Russian conscript sucked biggly even in peacetime.
Ukrainians being very savvy again: hit a barge close to shore so when it flooded it sank 1-2 meters and then settled on the riverbed. Now the russians have to lift and remove or patch up that barge. That will take days and the cranes the russians will use are juicy targets. https://t.co/csoxbGk5YT

Elon Musk is now a mouthpiece for the Russian government (likely pressed into service). He is silly, but I wouldn't celebrate his death.
No one could possibly make the case that the Germans who worked for Der Wehrmachtbericht were not legitimate military targets.SamjamAg said:
You don't have to be a combatant to be part of war effort. One thing is voicing your opinion, another is using your communication platform to facilitate a victory for your side - like Tokyo Rose. These are all war tactics.

- "We consider and will consider every means to advance diplomacy if we see an opening to advance it by whatever means, of course we'll always look at it," Blinken said, but added that Moscow was instead "doubling and tripling down" on its aggression.

A prediction: Crosetto is a close friend of Meloni and would not have accepted, if she had not promised him a massive defense budget increase... and she would not have asked him if she didn't want to massively increase the Italian military and needed a competent manager for that. https://t.co/9i4DlNKbX9

... The military aid that has been set to Ukraine is being applied to deflate Russia far more efficiently and far faster than if the same amount had been put into the Pentagon budget.
...... Nothing gets expended or consumed faster than ammo and beer that somebody else gifted to you and the Ukes have bad guys in theor crosshairs (call me Russophobic if you like). If the US is going to buy weapons with tax dollars to counter a threat to national and international security and peace, send it to the guy in the fight right now.

It's also a warning to other modern dictatorships(cough china cough) that if you invade a developed, peaceful country(cough taiwan cough), the entire world will become a logistics arm of the country being invaded. So just don't think about it.AgBank said:
I tend to be an isolationist wacko. I look at it as an ability to free ride on letting bordering Asia and European countries sort out their backyards.
But if you have to fight (and I think Russia is showing they have to be stopped), proxy is the most efficient. As sad as war is, this war seems to work really well for US national interests.
