Clarification regarding the previous video of explosions in #Taganrog. It is indeed so that explosions have been reported near the city, including by the #Russian media and propagandists.

However, that specific video was from #Crimea. We apologize for the mistake.

Agreed. Though the one duma member is ok with his 10 year old eventually fighting in this war, his mother may not. They can't keep the BS flowing that long without society demanding a complete withdrawal.
They were aiming for a regime change and they firmly cemented the Ukrainian identify and culture apart from Russia. For generations.
Meanwhile the WW2 strategy of collapse till winter sets in won't work this time around.
Notice how the same Duma member in the green sweater said Ukraine is a small piece in a global war, namely against the US?
Not to derail too far from this Ukrainian specific thread, but it bears repeating that Russia and China believe they are in a literal war against us. As has been mentioned earlier today/yesterday on this thread, Putin very well may lose in Ukraine but not before inflicting a massive economic and societal blow to all of Europe.
More like they need their populace to BELIEVE they are in a global war against the big bad U.S. to maintain their own grasp on power.
Taganrog has an airbase; my guess is a strike on infrastructure there.GAC06 said:

IZIUM: UKR forces are reported to have achieved localized force concentrations of 8 to 1 against Russians units in last week's counter-attack in the Kharkiv region. This indicates a major failure in RU intelligence, as well as combat efficiency. https://t.co/1lmk0tX4L2

Trying? They're experts at making anything "military X" be an oxymoron at this point. Intelligence, logistics, strategy, morale, etc.P.U.T.U said:
Explains why they went through them so quickly, 3:1 is what most military planners like to start offenses with, almost impossible to hold when outnumbered by 8:1. Russia is trying to make military intelligence an oxymoron.
Bravo. Those good people can once again sleep peaceably in their bed at night because the rough men did violence to the invaders on their behalf.ShotOver said:This is awesomeBattleGrackle said:

Yes it is a long way. 125KM from Donetsk airport to between the two airfields. In 2021 looks like the bigger one housed transports and the little one long range bombers. The port looks industrial not military. The front has been moving so fast I am not sure where it is and or how far off the line they would risk those assets especially having a few orcs still running around now caught behind the FLOT.GAC06 said:

My guess is either local saboteurs from the Russian side or some sort of SOF with drones operating from nearby. Probably not hard to sneak in a few guys with forged/stolen passports in with the crowds trying to flee from Crimea.JFABNRGR said:Yes it is a long way. 125KM from Donetsk airport to between the two airfields. I thought reddit article said HIMARS but that would be ATACAMS and I don't see that having been approved, Crimea yes, unless they had actionable intel of WMD coming out of there. Out of curiosity I did just look at flight tracker and we had a rivetjoint in the Black Sea a few hours ago but appears to have been 400KM from Taganrog and I have NO clue the capabilities of that platform at distances like that but source of intel could have also been Crimea and that estimated distance is only 100KM. .

The Military Command of the Russian Federation suspends sending new, already formed, units to the territory of Ukraine. The current situation in the military theatre and distrust for top command has forced a large number of volunteers to abandon the prospect of combat service. The situation is influenced by information on the actual number of casualties, excluding losses from private military companies and mobilized from temporarily occupied territories. The situation is getting worse because of the general attitude to the own wounded. In particular, in Russian hospitals, the diagnoses and nature of combat injuries are deliberately simplified, no time is given for rehabilitation to return soldiers to the combat zone faster.
IT BEGINS: The Moscow Times reports that after the collapse of the Kharkiv front, Putin retreated to his Sochi mansion and cancelled meetings with his military staff. In other news: the Kremlin announces referendums on the annexation of UKR territories have been cancelled. pic.twitter.com/JaBvBvtpXL

Found this below out of an article, of which there is seriously conflicting information which is no surprise. Boldened conflicting info with the update at very bottom. Of note this is similar description to the other two major crimea hits. I also briefly reviewed overhead of Chaltyr and nothing really significant sticks out, there is a industrial complex on the south, a prison, and a rail lines which directly connect with Tanganrog which would then interchange directly into the Donbass.txags92 said:My guess is either local saboteurs from the Russian side or some sort of SOF with drones operating from nearby.
