At Mykolaiv direction Russian forces have partial success in assault on Blahodatne, - General Staff of Armed Forces of Ukraine says in the morning report

Sure hope there's a good reason the Ukes have somehow let the Russians gain ground by Kherson/Mykolaiv. Hopefully it's at massive Russian losses. Gotta keep hitting those bridges. It confuses me that Russian command went across the river, and now Russia is making some gains. Perhaps it's just a counter attack to try and stave off or break the Ukrainian push.

Could there be HIMARS in between the two cities that Russia is trying to push back so their ammo dumps and C&C are safer?

I think they are making a big push before trying to settle for a negotiation that preserves much of the status quo (for a few years).

If you're going to sink anything nuclear it's better in a shallow port than out at sea/deeper water.

who can explain why you have 50 valuable military MRAP and vehicles lined up NOSE TO TAIL making a perfect bombing target?

why wouldn't you disperse them so at least there is a gap in distance between each one? it's like daring the Russkies to do something.

if the USAF was the aggressor force, that entire column would be a smoking wreck within 10 minutes.

The Army and Marine Corps' divestiture of MRAPs has slowed in recent years because domestic law enforcement organizations finally began to realize that the pride of equipping their SWAT teams with MRAPs was overcome by the cost and pain in the ass of maintaining those 4mpg beasts. It's much easier to give them to Ukraine than to demilitarize them. MRAPs are basically worth the resale value of the engine and transmission plus the price of the melted down armor for recycling. MRAPs will be of dubious value when facing any turreted enemy vehicle or modern antiarmor warhead but if they make a push into cities to fight isolated Russian infantry there may be some value. They make a great ambulance in an area where there are bullets flying.

I can't imagine the US military allowing that king of operational security risks taking place.

Denys said that there are new Russian ships in the Black Sea that weren't there before. Did Turkey open the straits for some?

Refer to the highlighted icons in the Northwest. Sounds like this is in preparation for a missile attack from the Belarus direction.

Oh yeah, and the frontline is getting massively shelled.

How is this any different than RuZZia's previous strategy? Just ramp it up even more?

A coworker from Belgium told a group of us that most of the world doesn't value life like Western countries do.

Truly sad

Not trying to be an ass but it took someone from Belgium to tell you that? Look at the way the rest of the world lives and acts and that's a pretty easy conclusion to draw.

My dad did WW2, Korea, and two tours of 'Nam during his 30 years, and served all over the world. This is one point he always stressed to me when trying to understand how other cultures function.

Ooooookay. Not like there are any areas that get hot during the summer previously. I mean yeah an explosion caused by enemy action could raise local temps but that's totally not what happened.

Honestly, this might / could / potentially be legit. Russia has a lot of really old, poorly made, and poorly stored ammo. Especially artillery shells. As someone mentioned a couple pages back, a large portion was supposed to be disposed of and all new climate controlled storage built for the rest. Because they were having issues with ammo dumps blowing up before the war. Neither happened because Russia is a bunch of corrupt bastages.

Of course, right now no one is going to believe it or care.

It's probably even worse if their old, degraded and unstable munitions are just setting themselves off. Talk about a morale killer if you're hauling crap that could spontaneously explode.

I mean, maybe. On paper.

I spent my youth working with and around munitions in 120+ weather for extended periods of time. And that includes munitions still in cases and boxes which were often metal and got MUCH hotter than 120. Literally burn your skin to touch.

It has been around 90 degrees tops last few days in that area. I'm not buying it at all. Crappy Russian ammo or not. That stuff didn't spontaneously explode in Afghanistan either and it was everywhere.

This isn't a new concept of war. And we should take great care not to underestimate an enemy willing to unleash a "horror".
