Curious if they're targeting civilians, logistics, HIMARS, or a combo.

The M270s have arrived in Ukraine. BIG BOYS
Uke Southern axis counterattack about to ramp in a big way.
it makes no sense that the Ukes have not dropped the three bridges linking the Kherson southern salient with Crimea.

take out those links (which the Russians will destroy regardless) and it isolates an entire part of the Russian army on the North side of the river from Kherson to Melotopol with no chance to be resupplied.

the perfect pocket. this makes no sense that the Ukrainians have not isolated those BCTs yet.

Maybe allowing Russia to transfer material to the region and then drop the bridges to a) destroy the material so they can't recover while pulling out of the area or b) recover the equipment when the Russians try to bug out.

Either way, Russia loses the area and material they built up

Waiting for a more ideal situation with greater Russian losses or keeping it as an insurance if alternate plans don't work?

I agree. On the surface it looks puzzling. But I wildarse guess may be that they are trying to draw in Russian reinforcements from Crimea and down from Zaporizia into the Kherson region. They have been repeatedly telling civilians to evac the area. Then, turn Kherson into a HIMAR/M270 meteor storm - followed by a monster route.

Wishful thinking indeed on my part. But I just poured a drink, so why not.

Waiting until they actually go on an offensive probably. That's probably the last thing they do.

Looks like white phosphorus shells similar to 155mm M825 cannister projectIles. They eject felt wedges that are impregnated with WP that begin to burn on contact with air. The burn whatever the land on and leave a lot of white smoke. The M825 is (or was 30 years ago) referred to as the "Improved Smoke" projectile which sounds a lot less scary than WP or fire starter.

Destroying bridges require multiple precision strikes with large warheads ... or thousands of pounds of high explosives placed by saboteurs. All the Iragi bridges destroyed by the US required multiple airstrikes using 1,000-2,000 lb guided bombs. In some cases, Iraqi insurgents used large truck bombs. Ukraine's current guided capabilities include 95 lb artillery rounds and 200 lb GLMRS warheads.

What do these colors mean? I'm not finding much that seems to make sense when I search. Would Russia have their specific color code? Would it change and only be known to Russian soldiers there?

Zelensky inherited a strong Russian fifth column inside the Ukrainian government and municipal administrations. It successfully opposed his proposed reforms and worked to advance Russia's interests. That's why Zelensky banned several Russia aligned parties after the invasion and purged individual collaborators/sympathizers as well. TRAITORS

50,000 casualties may not seem all that much in light of the large size of Russia's army, but the losses are concentrated in front-line units and have attrited a sizeable proportion of the army's best soldiers. We are seeing the impact of that steady loss of field experience and combat skills in the declining performance of Putin's army.

Per Rob (Speak the Truth), Russia is indeed having issues of overextending themselves in the East. Shelling has decreased significantly as well, likely due to HIMARS destroying key targets. This is a good episode. Also, Russia state TV is psychotic.

Germany and Poland stepping up with tanks.

Also, interesting note at 4:47. Russia is moving some or all of their Naval base from Sevastopol to Novorossiysk in reaction to the threats posed by the HIMARS.

Smart move. They know they are a shipment of ATACMS away from sunken ships and subs in Sevastopol

Has it been confirmed they are getting long range munitions? If so do this range radius all the way up north and now you put a significant amount of air assets in range as well. This said I would assume our priority targets for our own defense would be the subs.

Regarding 50k dead, i would not be surprised to hear anyday, putin state we have destroyed the nazi threat in Ukraine the special mission was an absolute success and then demand end of sanctions as if he was late on his sat tv subscription but got paid up.
