A Norwegian SAM system developed with Raytheon. Uses a converted version of the US AMRAAM air-to-air missile. Very different system than the ones the Ukrainians are used to operating. This may be an indication of more of a longer-term conversion to western systems instead of just trying to get them old Russian-designed stuff.

Shorter range, somewhat slower missile than an S300, but far more advanced guidance and detection, like 30-40 years newer.

While just about everyone wants to avoid an expansion of this from the couple of military guys I've talked to, they seem to privately hope they get a chance at the Ruskies. Especially after their performance so far.

Oh guaranteed every bordering country wants to. I'm not sure anyone outside of the Poles has a chance (excluding Nordic countries).

Russia is that family that has always been bullies in the neighborhood. The second they look weak, everyone wants a piece.

Perhaps the Ukrainians would like to demonstrate the effectiveness of the Taiwanese nuke-like "eggs" on the Kerch Strait bridge in retaliation for that attack on the shopping mall. A successful demonstration would give China something to think about.

I feel this for anybody that tank has killed or was maneuvering to kill. But the Russians? They've made their decisions and must deal with the consequences without any sympathy from me.

That looks to place the F35 about 30 miles from Snake Island. I'm not familiar with the F35's sensor suite but depending on its altitude, it's sensors could have direct line of sight to the island.

Blew the track and some road wheels off, probably seriously injured the crew, but didn't cook off the fuel or ammo, so it probably was survivable. Bet it wasn't fun, though. The iFV behind wishboned out into a defensive position (for column deployment at least)

Not sure where that last picture came from, with one tank behind a burned out hull.

Very much a cat-and-mouse game with the route mines. Encountering a destroyed vehicle on the road which had perhaps hit a mine earlier, this tank decides to go off-road to evade. Anticipating, the Ukrainians had also mined the field along the roadway.

It's not a proxy war. It's a plain old war between Ukraine and Russia.

But yes, we've certainly been providing meaningful intelligence all alongbut that wouldn't make it more than a proxy war, anyways
