Bomblet looks like it has a simple impact detonator so it would seem holding the drone up high like that for loading could be a recipe for disaster if the munition is fumbled.

I'm guessing soldiers won't be surrendering or being captured. This will end up costing Russian lives as their enemies won't be likely to surrender

For sure Kiev should make a declaratory statement that they are members of the Ukrainian armed forces and demand they be given the usual protections as POWs and, if not, threaten to try as mercenaries any Wagner Group or separatist fighters they capture.

Nope. Being held for trial. Most will probably be sentenced to death as well, based on statements in Russian media, military, and Duma.

I consider those who volunteer to rise up and fight against evil as heroes, especially when they might have to pay with their life while their families really suffer the loss. It is my prayer that this is just counterintelligence to persuade other foreign volunteers in joining the fight. Issues like this is also why nations should take a more active role in combatting such vile aggression.

Interesting comments from Putin regarding his perception that it's his destiny to unify ancient lands under singular rule. He's definitely becoming comfortable dropping prior pretexts to the invasion. I doubt he's satisfied with anything other than an eventual full annexation of Ukraine. If he's not successful in this attempt, I find it difficult to believe he doesn't continue in future attempts of various sorts.

I just love that a Russian tv host knows the phrase "city on a hill" in conjunction with America. A phrase that was used by a Puritan minister, I forget who, on the voyage over, and then was rediscovered by I think Perry Miller in the mid 20th century, before Reagan finally picked it up.

Also, things seem mostly stagnant the past couple of days. Russia's offensive seems to have stalled out.

Russian units appear to recruit regionally so they have units entirely made up of minorities like the Buryat. When one of their units gets destroyed, it has a disproportionate impact on those communities so I suspect the morale back home also sours more quickly as a result.
