So, Ukraine decided to weight its force up north and attack the weaker Russian force at Kharkov, while economizing on force vs the stronger Russian force in the Donbas by standing strictly on the defensive. Offensive success around Kharkov has now allowed Ukraine to free the city from shelling and close on the LOCs essential for the large Russian force in Donbas, potentially disrupting the entire Russian attack. Brilliant.MeatDr said:Unconfirmed but solid reports that Ukrainian troops have reached the Russian border to the North-East of Kharkiv near the town of Ternova. Reports say dozens of the Malloy T150 cargo drones will soon be headed to Ukraine, primarily for use getting supplies to forces in the field. They'll also be flown for medical deliveries to emergency services caring for people injured by Russian rocket strikes.
The Mallory heavy-lift supply drones are intended to augment Ukraine's capacities to quickly resupply forces in combat, while reducing the risk of human or more expensive equipment loss using traditional vehicles. The specialized UAVs can carry up to 65 kg(143 pounds), and fly a maximum range of 70 km.
Izium is in range too. It could actually be cut off if they start hitting the bridges. The only working road bridge in to Izium has been repaired. pic.twitter.com/O8X2o9oiN1

Hopefully after they win, they'll come back and train our troops on (relatively) low tech drone warfare.

I like their thinking. Control of MSRs and ASRs will chock out already shaky sustainment ops. You don't have to defeat forces in head to head battle if you can just squeeze the life out of their supply trains.Rossticus said:Izium is in range too. The helicopters are primarily used for personnel transport but can be armed with rockets and cannons for use in close air support situations. The U.S. will provide Ukraine with kits containing laser-guided devices that make rockets more precise, the Pentagon announced last week.
That versatility is welcome in Donbas, the eastern part of Ukraine where Russia has consolidated its forces in an attempt to seize more territory. The helicopters could be used for moving soldiers around the battlefield and medical evacuation across the vast region.

This week, Lockheed Martin confirmed that the production rate of the anti-tank missile will be increased dramatically in response to calls from the Ukrainian government
James Taiclet, the CEO of Lockheed Martin, told CBS News on Monday that the current rate of 2,100 missiles manufactured per year will increase to 4,000. However, the increase in production won't immediately benefit Ukraine's efforts to fend off Russians in the eastern Donbas region, with the production increase set to come into effect in the next "couple of years."
During the interview, Taiclet confirmed that supply chains are in place to ensure that the increased demand for Javelin missiles can be met and that they can "start turning up the heat now" and "ramping the production immediately."
