"Russia the Righteous vs The World and Evil Nazi USA, who is the sole reason Russia is not prosperous and Russia isn't a great power, is out to get us".

There are ways for people to access outside info but they choose to believe Russian propaganda over every other available source of info. There's a reason that many Russian expats also support what Russia is doing with little concern. Being Russian is, to many Russians, a religion as much as anything else.

Nvmd. Seems like standard crew and this was an armed Mi-8. I count at least 3 bodies.

Fabulous article by a former Commander, US Army Europe.

Shares his first-hand observation of both the Russian and Ukrainian armies over the course of several decades.

We don't have enough weapons to defend against Russia. We have enough to obliterate them, conventionally at least.

You think we're short of nukes?

If nukes come in to play, there are no winners and there are no losers. It's a reset button.
China wins because there is no reason to attack them and they would be the largest remaining power. America, Europe and Russia would be a smoldering husk.

If the US and Russia annihilated each other with nukes there wouldn't be a winner. The entire planet would experience a nuclear winter and die. The Aussies and New Zealanders would be the last to die but ultimately the fallout kills them too.

The cockroaches are the only winners in a ful scale nuclear war.
This is false. There have been over 800 atmospheric tests to date. A couple thousand more won't destroy the planet.

If you were stung by 800 bees over your lifetime, would that kill you? No.

If you were stung by several thousand bees at once, you'd be dead.

With tongue firmly in cheek, I told the translator to tell the colonel that having fought in Desert Storm, I had seen many T-72sbut none of them still had the turret attached. The interpreter hesitated and asked me if I really wanted to say that to his colonel. Nodding my head, I watched my new friend's face turn red, but then transition to a slight grin. Is anyone alarmed that this thread falls during the day? I guess we have gotten used to the fact that people are dying every day. Not to say that we don't care, but our attention is worn out. You can tell by the frequency of postings. This is all great information but we have become exhausted.

Granted I am not trained military; however, isn't it normal that fighting subsides during the night? Our day is their night, so, it seems normal that posts would subside as well. Sorry if I am misunderstanding your post.

What I mean to say is that people are losing interest in this conflict. This thread used to be at the top of the page every time. Now I wouldn't be surprised to find it on the second page if it weren't for Rossticus late night updates
I've noticed when I go to the listing of the threads it may indicate that there are, say 100 new posts since I last looked at it, like this morning. But when I opened the thread there were maybe 30 new posts. Often there are significantly fewer posts. This happens quite often - does that mean the mods are throttling down on the posts or removing redundant posts?

[YES, TRYING TO REMOVE THE DERAILS. -STAFF]
Thanks, stay focused!

Almost all of the biggest nukes are exoatmospheric or air bursts. Cities will burn and lots of smoke will be released altering weather patterns and possibly cause large scale famines but the "nuclear winter" will be much closer to a Mount St. Helens event than a planet killing mass extinction event.
