The Donbas War has been pretty nasty at times and there have been a number of civilians on "both sides" that have died. Its a conflict that long ago needed a UN peacekeeping intervention but Russia will never allow that to happen.

Of course, that's really not why Russia has taken to trying to wipe much of Ukraine off the map. And to the extent it is, its another example of Russia instigating **** in order to justify instigating more *****

Wow nice attack. Lost a track. Crew trying to evac.

Watch warning the below reference it gets horrific.

I could not figure out what lands on the road at 1:21 until the end when you see a second tank was also blown up. The angle looks off at first from the direction of the second tank kill but its the shadow.

That looked like a "meat sack of potatoes" falling into the picture with a few pieces missing.

If things are so bad how do three leaders announce they are visiting the president a day before and they ride a train to visit the President! I'm just trying to figure out how this works with a city completely surrounded by Russians.

It's not completely surrounded. Not even close. Russians have done a isht job and Ukes are doing a solid job of bogging them down. The strikes on Kyiv are rocket strikes.

Ok so not surrounded. I'm still not sure how a train route actually exists! Not only that but one safe enough to carry three country leaders in on an announced meeting!

Because Putin knows what it would mean if his forces killed 3 NATO PMs. You can be damn well certain he told his guys to make sure the chamber was empty with the safety on.

That was my thinking as well. WW1 was started with only 1/3 of that assassination. The NATO PMs were daring him to try something.

That would not even need to happen. Why is there still a train route in to the city? It just doesn't make any sense.

The Russians haven't been able to do significant deep strike outside of ballistic and cruise missiles. It's a fascinating refusal to execute on their own doctrine. The failure to knock out comms, internet and transportation in the first 2 days or even significantly target it is mind boggling.

Likelihood is that Russia sees it as a strategic necessity in the instance that they secure Kyiv. Probably ties in to a line from Belarus as well.

It occurs to me that we've heard/seen next to nothing from the Ukrainian general staff during the course of the information campaign.

Those dudes have executed brilliantly and will never have to pay for a drink at the bar for the rest of their lives.

Looks like that tank crew was lost, on it's own, no infantry

lost in a foreign land, condemned to die by their superiors, and by a maniacal despot.
That sucks for those soldiers and their family

They have a tank. It's not like they can't shoot their superiors.
Idk, seems like being in a Russian tank in Ukraine is asking to be smited.

Their comms are so bad they have lost touch with many units in the field. One of those could take a shot at that train in full ignorance of the identity of the passengers.

Novice here, but is that a BMD-1 or -2 at the 1:12 mark? To take the airfield in Kherson?

From a long term strategic standpoint it would be very smart to continue to lend Ukraine whatever assistance they need to bleed the Russian military dry and cripple it for a generation.

Apologies if this is already posted somewhere and I missed it. Any news of random Russian soldiers meeting death at the hands of anonymous Ukrainian civilians / snipers in occupied territory?

Must be a misquote - 75% of the committed forces, i can see that with casualties and redeployments. Not of the entire active army. Certainly he wouldn't have moved that many troops in leaving any flank open.

Unless his active forces are significantly fewer than the world has been led to believe…

You are assuming Putin has been given accurate numbers on his fighting forces. It is very possible there are some ghost divisions that only exist on paper.
