If Turkey is willing to play. I thought an American blockade just waiting outside of the Bosphorus and Dardanelles Straits would be a choke point for resupply of Russian forces. They don't get in or out.

They've been taking pot shots at civilians for weeks. They're already raping, shooting fleeing civilians, mining "humanitarian corridors" with butterfly mines, shooting tanks off at cars, homes, apartment buildings. It's how they do business.

I agree with you that it doesn't ultimately get you the gains you want as opposed to other tactics but they see it differently and it's been their MO for a long, long time. Terror and subjugation.

They've already intentionally bombed hospitals, maternity wards, cancer hospitals, etc. Shot up civilians. Trapped civilians in cities so they can shell neighborhoods, etc. Winning hearts and minds is clearly not part of their playbook. It's the exact opposite in fact. It's stupid to us. To Russia, it's just they way they wage war.

So they wouldn't have a way to launch our cruise missiles, and MRAP's would be basically useless. I already knew that but thanks for the response I guess.

ETA, part of any settlement the Ukrainians make for a cease fire should include that whoever gave the order to hit the residences and hospitals in Mariupol should face an international war crimes tribunal.
