Election maps and war coverage.

The only two things CNN is good at.

I can see this stupidity forcing NATO or the EU's hand.

Can't have Putin turning swathes of land into radioactive wastelands because he is irritated.

so even though there is no radioactive fallout-

you want to start a war with an aggressive country which possesses 6,000 nuclear weapons.

to stop nuclear fallout.

an obvious discussion point- if there WAS a slight leak of radiation...

would Putin pull back his troops?

or keep them all in position anyway not caring they may suffer radiation poisoning?

They invaded through the Chernobyl exclusion zone on purpose.

Tucker did cut away to the Ukraine reporter on the ground to discuss it. I checked all the channels because I was surprised cnbc was the only one reporting it at first.

But yeah Tucker doesn't feel like where I want to go for the potential breakout of WW3.

At some point, someone is going to have to step in.

It's one thing kill all those "other" folks, but when Russia starts acting in a way that could kill "us" folks, it might demand a response
You do realize that Europe could force Ukraine to surrender much more easily than they can force Putin to retreat?

I did see an unsubstantiated report that the Russian paratroop general was killed by a sniper.

Which answers one of my questions about the use of military sharpshooters and what sort of impact they are having. First info I have heard at all about marksmen in general in this war. Actually thought that was kind of interesting. Normally these individuals are highly touted/demonized in wars of this nature.

If that comes to light, I would expect civil unrest. I don't see many people simply just wanting this to stop. They support Ukraine in defense.

Ardennes. There would be no static or permanent defense there, but passing through it short term on the attack is relatively little risk.

part of siege warfare...is not letting firefighters in (i.e. keep the fires burning to destroy more stuff)

NEXTA probably knows this

Should have shot back the minute the first Russian came across the border. Wtf are we waiting for? Every day that goes by the Russians get more entrenched, set up air defenses and kill more civilians

You new to the thread? Russia has nukes. Putin is crazy. That's the answer, even if it stinks.

Well, one good thing. No evidence that the USAF has scrambled any of the WC-135 Constant Phoenix aircraft in the last few hours.

There is one based at RAF Mildenhall. It flew this morning (7:15AM GMT) to Poland, went in circles for a while, and went home.

If anyone wants to watch for it, their call sign is usually JAKE11 or JAKE21.

Gotta love a guy who has zero F'ks left to give to Putin, and so much so that he's openly saying to the world just how he's personally helping to fight him.

This has already been explained to you. Poland is NATO. If he attacks them, then you will get what you want.

When he invades Poland he'll be crushed. Then maybe they'll be a nuclear war.

Thanks for asking. They are doing okay - the city has remained relatively peaceful. Two large aid trucks arrived today, apparently from Russia (Crimea), with food and a gesture to the Ukrainian people to those who tolerate the Russian occupation with relatively low resistance get rewarded…

He said all the police have basically fled and so some locals have banded together to create a citizens police group to monitor the streets, keep the peace, etc. Apparently looting is a big problem right now.

With this power plant near disaster tonight only being 60 miles away from Melitopol, I'm wondering if it gets shut down and they lose power indefinitely. Hopefully not.

My BIL there firmly believes Ukraine will ultimately prevail and win this. My 80 year old Ukrainian father-in-law here in the US firmly believes Russia will. It's a interesting dichotomy.

I had seen Russians With Attitude account post about Russia providing humanitarian aid for areas under their control. Nice to see it corroborated.

All the best to your family, I can scarcely imagine what it must be like.

He's not going to stop at Ukraine is what I'm saying so might as well take them out now. Strike every convoy and air defense system on Ukrainian soil.

Translation…

CIA is picking up the intelligence and feeding it to Ukraine who then act on it. Then Ukraine claims the intelligence came from inside FSB to mess with Putin's head and create internal strifes at the Kremlin in hopes of regime change.
