This. The DoD isn't publishing the current DEFCON for public consumption.
Lots of instances where we announced DEFCON changes
In recent times? Help me recall when.

I'll say one thing, Britain should be commended for their part in all of this. From being some of the toughest in their language and support for Ukraine to government officials openly stating that should British citizens make the decision to go and fight in Ukraine that they would not be hindered they've truly been a positive force in all this.
Not to mention all the weapons they sent to Ukraine

Tracking some current Aeroflot flights from Moscow to JFK and Cancun. Canada closing airspace makes for interesting decisions on whether they have to fly back. Also increases friction points with the West.

Isn't direct armament an act of war? I'll leave the military analysis to those with better experience than me, but the Russian moves do seem piecemeal.

Ukraine is the size of Texas and has a long border with NATO countries. I'm sure the arms shipments are transferred to Ukrainian trucks (mostly civilian) on the safe side of the border and then those vehicles disperse and head back inland by many routes hiding amongst other traffic.oldmanguy said:SidsBurnerAccount said:Through Poland by Rail to Uke border.Rockdoc said:

Once they hit Ukraine territory Russia should be neutralizing them forthwith. I really wonder if they have visibility over top with long on station assets. Are they freaking blind?

Perhaps you're right, I don't see a formal announcement after a quick search. But maybe a moot point because the Russians knew about it pretty much as soon as the order was given according to this. Not really something that can be kept quiet.
