This sort of reminds me of trying to track coaches expected to be hired etc. It is easy to be mislead/jump to a conclusion based on a flight path of a corporate jet etc.
⚡️130 survivors saved so far from ruins of Mariupol Drama Theater, which Russians hit with massive bomb on March 16.
The theater was known to house hundreds of women and children. Its bomb shelter reportedly survived the attack. The rescue efforts continue.

Kind of random, and definitely in the highly unlikely scenario, but what would we do in most of the US if something like this happened? As far as I know, here, in Houston, none of our buildings have bomb shelters or cellars that could act as one to house the public....
One of the consequences of the cold war is that Ukraine is 'blessed' to have a bunch of nuclear grade bomb shelters.
Their underground public transportation venues were built to withstand a nuclear attack and are crazy deep.
The junior high I went to had a fallout/bomb shelter beneath it. They're here in the US too of you know where to look.
Isn't there one at the post office on campus across from North Gate in College Station?
Human rights lawyer Daniil Berman says state investigators in Moscow have been told tacitly to wrap up all their economic crimes cases ASAP because next month they’ll be inundated with new cases against various “traitors.” Putin’s Terror is coming if it isn’t already here. pic.twitter.com/baZlQuFfPu
We had an RC135 Recon plane flying a pattern south of and offshore of Kaliningrad last night. Wonder if Putin is stirring something up with some fleet assets?

My high school in Dallas had one too. Still had a faded old civil defense fallout shelter sign outside too.
I wonder if this sort of wildly inaccurate use of rockets is condoned or if the pilots are doing it on their own to return to base winchester to claim they actually destroyed assigned targets.
Oligarchs getting out of Dodge because: and use your own imagination here.
1. Someone popped Putin and his cronies are getting out. 2. Putin lost it and is looking for fall guys. This is a Russian Tradition see Stalin's Purges. 3. its just a coincidence. 4. Russian oil types working a deal to sell oil on the open market through ME dealers 5. Vacation time 6. Putin has lost it and has ordered a nightmare
Take your pick ?
7. All the people who got rich stealing money that was supposed to go to the Russian armed forces for modernization and/or training getting out while the getting's good.

All those shiny new toys (a Ka-52 followed by an Mi-28), and they are being used in the least efficient way possible - firing unguided rockets in an absolutely inaccurate /indiscriminate way
But it's a win-win for the pilots: - expend payload - kill civilians - stay away from ManPads - stay away from combat zone -survive Mission Accomplished!
I don't think the pilots are cowards. I think these are their actual orders.

What kind of munitions does a helicopter have launching rockets up into the sky? Guided?
No dramatic changes or events over the last day. A slow advance of Russian troops in the east, if at all. They are very slowly gaining ground towards the oblasts' administrative centers.
Elsewhere it's quiet. Ukraine is advancing slightly in Mykolaiv, Kherson. A little as well near Kyiv, Kharkiv. Russia's losses have started increasing again. Ukraine has been successful in taking out Russian convoys and aircraft.
No high hopes for diplomatic negotiations. The most that can be achieved is exchange of POWs and maybe humanitarian corridors. Yesterday the first publicly known exchange of prisoners occurred: the Melitopol mayor for 8-9 Russians.
Ukraine suspects that some Belarusian subunits have been deployed under larger Russian units, but that's nothing that would alter the outcome of the war.
No expectations for rapid developments or massive offensives in the next days. Ukraine needs to be careful with their troops in the east being cut off. But that is not a major threat in the short term.
Ukrainians are really pushing for some elbow room around Mykolaiv, which would really allow them to harass the hell out of Russian supply lines coming north from Crimea through Kherson and to its east.
And as that attack on the Kherson airfield shows, they're already pretty capable in the area--albeit, the airfield is northwest of town.
This is such a wild inversion of roles from the previous rounds of fighting. In 2016, the GRU hacked an artillery calculator app to snag location data on Ukrainian troops trying to do targeting math. Now Russian generals are getting smoked by Ukrainians eavesdropping on them. pic.twitter.com/KgVGv25XuV
There is video of UKR forces on Kherson airport which appears to have been abandoned by the russians after two artillery strikes. The video is a couple pages back or more and I confirmed geolocation.
Below is a translated russian text.
Satellite image of Kherson airport, after shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, confirmed the destruction of 10 helicopters and damage to another 3 (probably no longer suitable for use). That's not counting dozens of supply trucks.

Given that two pilots shot their rockets in the same direction and with the same method, this would be the safest assumption. They're shooting indirect fire at a big area on purpose, not just to return to base with empty racks.

I thought I saw on Twitter that that may have been video made by a Russian showing Russian troops moving around the airfield after the attack
Was just reading this quote from Putin in the WSJ. Impressive that each and every item in this statement is false.
"The operation is being carried out successfully, strictly in accordance with previously laid-out plans," he said. "And our boys and soldiers and officers are showing courage and heroism and are doing everything to avoid losses among the civilian population."
As part of a massive military aid package announced Wednesday, the Biden administration is providing Ukraine with U.S. made killer drones guided missiles that could accurately target Russian troops from miles away two congressional officials briefed on the matter told NBC News.
The White House referred to the weapons as "100 Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems."
There are two variants of the weapon, the Switchblade 300 and the 600, that have been sold to U.S. Special Operations Command by manufacturer AeroVironment, based in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. The 300 is designed for pinpoint strikes on personnel, and the larger 600 is meant to destroy tanks and other armored vehicles. The Congressional officials did not have clarity on which variant would be provided to Ukraine, or whether both would be.
The Switchblades are essentially robotic smart bombs, equipped with cameras, guidance systems and explosives. They can be programmed to automatically strike targets miles away, and they can be steered around objectives until the time is right to strike. The company says the 600 can fly for 40 minutes and up to 50 miles.
They are single-use weapons, which is why they have been dubbed "kamikaze drones." But they are orders of magnitude cheaper than the Hellfire missiles fired by U.S. Reaper drones.
The Kamikaze 300 can cost as little as $6,000.
Both weapons can be set up in minutes and launched from tubes. They fly much faster than the Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drones that Ukraine has been using.

This is the new era of warfare that the US has been preparing for/ fearing.
Next step is swarms. Drone swarms between near peers are going to invalidate a lot of commonly held thoughts in regards to tactics and strategy.
From the purely objective side, this war is actually a gold mine of benefits to us in so many different areas. Aeronvirionment just got some free large scale field testing to perfect their craft...

All of this lethal aide we are giving the UKE how does giving them planes all of a sudden an escalation?
