yes, at the tactical level, the Soviet/Russian artillery specifically the MLRS was the #1 concern.

the top priority was trying to locate those units on the battlefield

Except our F-22s can't fly half the time. The F-35 isn't doing much better.

The Air Force is to busy being woke and making sure they have enough "diversity" recruits to actually be ready to fight a war.

Let's hope so.

Wish democracies like America and our allies would do more to oppose an invasion by Russian strongman. Dark days.

VERY unsubstantiated report I saw flit across YT of Ukrainian forces readying NBC gear suggesting they are at least thinking about chemical weapons.

Just interesting to note and something I had actually not considered. HIGHLY doubt Russia will go there but better to be prepared than not from Ukes side I guess.

(Probably just some by the book 2nd lieutenant going hard)

I think it's more related to Chernobyl. It is located very close to the Belarus border and some of the most contaminated areas are on that side of the nuclear plant.

Sweden and Finland reconsidering their "neutrality" methinks. Sweden has been exercising with NATO the past few years.

Kharkiv was always going to fall quickly. It's just not possible to defend it in the initial wave for a country of Ukraine's military capabilities. They can win it back in a war of attrition, but that's about it.

Russians need Kharkiv for their resupply operations. Big railhead there iirc.

What affects will this have at home? Rising gas prices for sure? Falling interest rates? Market crash? Housing market effects?

Gas is going to be over $100 per barrel. Market will assuredly react negatively. Possibly more negatively after Biden's sanctions tomorrow.

Agreed. Just think it's undefendable for Ukraine at this time.

Oh for sure, way too much real estate for them to cover. I think we need to see what their counter response is.

WTI $97+
Brent $102.25+
DOW -750
Nasdaq -365

That's before sanctions and progress. When Kharkiv falls and sanctions go in that might look rosy.
