IIRC, these sunken landing ships are part of the flotilla Russia hurriedly sent from its northern European bases just in time to get them through the Bosporus Strait and into the Black Sea before the invasion kicked off and Turkey closed the passage to warships.

Who knew they were rushing to their doom.

USVs are launched to target area. The O3 or O4 goes off to bed or the gold course while several E3/4s are like playing X box and monitoring the big screens. As soon as one makes a find the intel guy gets a wake up at the same time the CO does. The target is IDd and the order to strike is given. BDA is assessed, starbucks is called in, and high 5s go all around.

I was just remarking that it was an interesting coincidence that the GLSDB showed up in use about the same time the news came out showing two relatively lightly damaged HIMARS being pulled back for repair. You are probably right that they were not related, but given the remarks from others who would know that the HIMARS did not seem to be that badly damaged, it was an interesting coincidence.

I dunno. This is a warzone, and that's very obviously a Russian warship. I think any E3 would probably be commended for taking the initiative. I would imagine these are one way trips since it's 250+ miles from Ukrainian controlled coast to where a lot of these attacks take place, and once they find a target of opportunity they'd probably want to hit it as soon as possible. Probably don't want to waste fuel or risk losing the opportunity if you don't intend to bring it back if you're not successful. Once they find a target, they probably get all of their boats together for an attack and swarm them.

Probably others in the tanks and BTR's. You're also not seeing everything there, just this one guy's perspective. He mentions a group of spetznaz somewhere off camera that got ****ed up and that some bodies have already been collected, so there's more than what's being shown. This position was worked over pretty well.

He also mentions that 70% of a 4000 person bridge is gone. I would call that pretty substantial.
