Pretty sure last I checked, Boom Town (the film) was about a love triangle between two oil tycoons and a woman, not her legs and the walking beams.Justified said:
Looks like a Lufkin pumping unit is her platform
and while that alone isnt a reason i'd vote for her, i'm glad its a point being made. a coupe of years ago I had a contested hearing at the RRC against NGL where after 4 days of hearing we earned a proposal for decision from the examiners that was entirely in our favor. They passed it along to the commission to vote for and it was handed back telling them "no, you need to make a concession for NGL" there was no reasoning given, just a "no, change your answer" so we ended up with only a partial victory after all finding of fact and law had been in our favor. i have a theory as to what the actual reasoning was:BassCowboy33 said:cevans_40 said:Me too. Whats her platform?
But I don't take her seriously
I've covered the RRC extensively. Her campaign is based mainly on the water quality issues we're having in West and East Texas as a result of the poor record keeping and plugging of wells contaminating groundwater and destroying land. It's been the main platform of competitors and the easiest to hit Christian on.
She's also big on Christian's taking donations from the very entities he's supposed to regulate, something that's been making big headlines in the past couple of months and is illegal in most states (but not Texas).
what makes you think we don't have a bunch of complete degenerates in political office already? all things equal i'd rather them wear their degeneracy out on their sleeve (pasties?) than hide it in back rooms where it can **** me the voter over without my ever knowing.BAP Enthusiast said:AgRebel08 said:

If you can't figure out why it's a very bad idea to have a complete degenerate be in political office then you have no business voting.
This type of stuff can be used as blackmail easily if you sleep with the wrong person. It's incredibly dumb.

#txlege please vote against this. It’s the exact opposite direction we should be going. We need to stop punishing people for being poor. https://t.co/0g54YWOj8g

How many constituents have reached out to you and asked you to take a position on this? I don’t know ANYONE who is actually worried parents are going to medically alter children in a detrimental way.

after researching all the candidates on the ballot for RRC this election cycle, I think I'll be casting my vote for Marvin Summers...justcallmeharry said:

A few days after the American article appeared, the race took another turn when candidate Marvin "Sarge" Summers, owner of an oil-field networking website from Lubbock, died in a car accident outside Midland while traveling between campaign appearances. 'They say I needed money. I have OTHER assets': West Texas GOP wannabe railroad commissioner, 37, divides locals after posting TikTok video of herself TOPLESS while straddling oil pumping jackBy MELISSA KOENIG FOR DAILYMAIL.COM
- Sarah Stogner, 37, tweeted a video of her straddling an oil pumping jack while topless and without pants on on February 13
- It was meant as a way to garner attention for her campaign for Texas Railroad Commissioner, which controls the state's oil and gas
- She was soon ridiculed online and had an endorsement from one of the state's major newspaper rescinded
- Stogner said the video was meant as a joke to bring awareness to her campaign
- She also said that the San Antonio News-Express' editorial 'felt very much like **** shaming'
PUBLISHED: 16:56 EST, 22 February 2022 | UPDATED: 17:55 EST, 22 February 2022
....The San Antonio Express-News editorial board even dropped its support of the candidate.
'We were disappointed to see a disgraceful TikTok video posted Sunday from Sarah Stogner, whom we recently recommended in the Republican primary for railroad commissioner,' the editorial board wrote. 'We rescind our recommendation.'
The editorial board instead endorsed Stogner's opponent, Dawayne Tipton, saying they would not have endorsed Stogner for the position, which oversees the state's oil and gas industry, if she had posted the video earlier.
'This is an opportunity to reaffirm our principles and expectations,' the San Antonio Express-News board wrote. 'We expect candidates for public office to model civil discourse and decorum worthy of the public's trust. This was neither.
'Instead, it's an indictment of these times that a candidate, even a marginal one, would appeal to potential voters in such way via social media ... this was an embarrassing failure.'

It's gonna come down to a woman who shows her boobs or a dude who sells people up a creek for campaign donations. I guess it all depends which you find more offensive?
